How do you feel that it's "blown"?

Liberals look at conservatives as saved, but steeped in legalism, so they can still fellowship them. Conservatives look as liberals as lost for not holding to things they believe to be biblical, therefor they have an issue in fellowshipping with lost folks.

Matt, this is an excellent answer. I never really looked at it that way, but I believe this explains the dilemma perfectly.

In other words, one group is willing to love while the other group is not.

Then there is where the judgmentalism comes in-determining the destination of how someone is going to spend eternity by appearances.

But I agree with what you are saying though Matt.

Conservatives judge liberals
and liberals despise conservatives, the remedy is love for the one you disagree with and knowing that we all belong to the Lord who will receive us if we obey HIS LEADERSHIP

I'm considered liberal and I know for sure I don't dispise them.

Bro,

I do not think it is a matter of Love, but a matter of standing against something they see as sin. Think about it. If I am doing things that a Con looks at as sin, then they cannot in good conscience open their arms and have true fellowship with me. They can be cordial, and polite, and even friendly. But they will not be able to accept me for a Christian, as I am a sinning in their eye's.

And I do not think all Cons view liberals as lost either.
