The term in and of itself is misleading. To say you are Apostolic just because you believe God requires three steps to salvation is a fallacy.
The disciples merely preached Jesus. That's all. They had no agenda, no personal ambitions, they gave their lives for Jesus and His gospel.
I know many who consider themselves Apostolic, (because of their standards) but completely ignore Christian ethics. They gossip, lie, cheat, backbite, hate their brothers, consider everybody else lost, consumed by jealousy, bitterness, etc.
Either you are a Christian or you are not saved.

I'm with Felicity. I agree with what you say. In fact I really like what you say!

Don't hold it against anyone. there might be something you change your mind on one day too.
One other thing, some who voted in favor of the TV resolution use to preach against if over their pulpits. think about that

This is true for everyone, Thad, but in the case of Bishop, I personally know some things he has softened on...golf, colored shirts (could only wear white in the pulpit)...things like that...things that are no biggie, ya know?!

The deep condescending preacher voice, beer belly, white shirts, long sleeves and $90.00 ties are enough personality for me. Wonder if the crocodile skins were worn to the grass hut?

Do I detect a note of... no, couldn't be... could it? Yeah... it does sound like a little jealousy there.
WHO CARES? If he can afford a $90 tie and a Ford Pickup and a white shirt and a pair of crocodile skins... by all means wear them. It's nobody else's business. Is it???

I don't agree with all of your post... but, some of it is surely true.
I really like what you say about the gossipping, lying, backbiting, bitterness and jealousy...
As a matter of fact... you need to put some of that in a new thread and make it a sticky that all members have to read... Because nearly EVERY THREAD on this forum has a lot of that going on in it.
And, yeah, I know... nobody's perfect! But in the time that I've been on the AFF, I'm coming to the conclusion that that is the primary focus of this forum.
If people sat around and did in person what is being done on here, it could be called nothing more than simply 'gossip'... some of it is definitely 'lying' (I think we could reference the Bishop Jakes story here)...
Oh, I know... there'll be someone who'll say, "If you don't like it, get off!" That's what my mother would have told me if she caught me listening to stuff like this when I was growing up. So... maybe I will... because whether you have a 'holier than thou' attitude, or are tearing up those who have a 'holier than thou' attitude... I find the odor is about the same... and God probably does too!

There's an old saying...I don't repeat Gossip so listen carefully. lol, Truth is humans can't keep a secret. If they know something about someone else, they will tell it or die. People want to be first with information to feed their ego, "I know something you don't know".
I have witnessed it first hand and can tell you it's straight out of hell. When people assume, jump to conclusions, accuse, this creates a false witness against their brother. This is a sin.
