Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official

Sen. Cruz Votes Against Spending Bill Funding President Obama’s Agenda
December 18, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. —U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today voted against the $1.1 trillion, 2,000-plus page spending bill that was passed by the U.S. House at approximately 9:30 a.m. today and subsequently rammed through the Senate after being hastily merged with tax extender provisions.

Following the bill’s passage in the Senate, Sen. Cruz said, “What we’ve seen in Congress today is profoundly disappointing. This spending bill does not honor the promises we made to the men and women who elected us. It funds Obamacare. It funds Planned Parenthood. It funds executive amnesty. It fails to protect our national security and stop Syrian refugees from coming to this country. It fails to do anything to stop the Iranian Nuclear Deal. And what does it do? It jacks up yet more low-skilled immigration, which will only drag down wages, kill American jobs, and hurt working men and women.

“This bill is the big-government agenda of Democrats that effectively forfeits our massive Republican victories of 2014 and cements Obama’s priorities for nearly the full remainder of his term. This is the Washington Cartel in action, and it’s precisely why the American people from coast-to-coast are so volcanically frustrated.”

Sen. Cruz penned an op-ed for Politico on Thursday detailing his opposition to the spending bill. Read Sen. Cruz’s op-ed here:

FOUND HIM! He missed the spending bill vote today because he had one event in a row in Iowa - a record-setting breakneck pace for Marco.

Guess he needs to take as much time to lie about Ted Cruz today.

Good article. I really see Cruz rising to the top. Trump has his support but it has a ceiling. I don't see Trump getting much more than what he has---I could be wrong, but maybe 2-3% more. That leaves him below 50%. I think the lion's share goes to whoever is second and I believe that will be Cruz.

Trump is focusing on national polls which changes once the elections begin. We shall see.

73% of Trump supporters view Cruz favorably. And 49% view him as their alternative, Rubio receiving only 16%. So, yes, Cruz has the advantage here.

People criticize Cruz for not going after Trump in the debates, but he is playing it wise.

This is what I find so despicable about Marco Rubio. Jeb Bush was right to call him out for not doing his job. Too bad he backed off after Rubio attacked him. And I say despicable because Rubio slams Cruz for thing he didn't vote for when Rubio doesn't have the guts to vote BECAUSE he wants to win the election and has therefore been seemingly purposely absent when critical votes were needed.

I'll continue to say I'll vote for Rubio over Hillary, but the more Rubio I see the less I like. What really bugs me about Rubio is he rose up as a Tea Party guy and then abandoned his "principles" when he got to Washington to get in good with career politicians. That's what he is, that's all he is, a politician. A chameleon--he stands for whatever is popular at the time and what will get him votes. He's the Republican Obama/Hillary.

Isn't Paul Ryan following in Boehners steps? I'm sick of these hacks.
