He isn't investigating it now, because he was hammered on it all day today. Think about how hard the GOP Establishment wants to destroy Ted Cruz? Just think about it.
For one thing, there is this article, proving the information wasn't classified:
Quote:
NSA is collecting less than 30 percent of U.S. call data, officials say
In 2006, a senior U.S. official said, the NSA was collecting “closer to 100” percent of Americans’ phone records from a number of U.S. companies under a then-classified program, but as of last summer that share had plummeted to less than 30 percent.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
And now Guy Benson hits Cruz hard, with a bogus, lying article, at Townhall.
But, fortunately, the truth is here and Mark Levin backs it up saying that Guy Benson can't do better. I agree.
Quote:
C’mon conservatives, stop smearing Ted Cruz on his immigration stance!
Today Guy Benson wrote that Ted Cruz lied about his positions last night on the legalization of illegals. Here’s what he wrote:
It’s not hard to put this together. Guy Benson can do better.

Good! I didn't believe Cruz did what they were claiming. And yes, I know the establishment is scared silly about Cruz, moreso than Trump.

Isn't that amazing?
Good comments by Jack Welch, former CEO of General Electric - He's for Cruz and doesn't trust Rubio. "He [Cruz] says what he is going to do and he does it!"
He's been for Cruz for a long time.

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
So, the battle is raging over this video (YouTube clip below) of Senator Ted Cruz. People need to be informed on the process of battling a bad bill. What Ted is trying to do is add amendments to the bill, which doesn't mean he is in favor of the said bill. He was trying to strip citizenship from the bill.
For instance, amendments were added to Obamacare in order to stop the funding of abortion. That doesn't mean they were for Obamacare.
The reason it was called the Gang of 8 and not the Gang of 9 is because Ted Cruz wasn't a part of it.
Steve Deace interviews Daniel Horowitz who was present when the Gang of 8 was being waged. Daniel is an American defense attorney.
Amanda Carpenter was also there who worked with Ted Cruz. This is what she had to say about the issue:
"If Cruz really was supportive of legalization why didn't the Gang of 8 take him up on the offer and get the bill done?"
"Ask yourself this: If Cruz had the same position on a path to citizenship why would he try to kill Rubio's Gang of 8 bill?!"
"Cruz took on an incredible amount of political risk working to stop amnesty. I was there. Everyone was against us."
And I was listening at the time and know all of this is true - everyone was against Sen. Cruz, Sessions and Mike Lee.

Here is Steve Deace and Daniel Horowitz explaining how the Gang of 8 issue went down:

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Another issue that Rubio is trying to hit Ted Cruz with is voting against the NDAA. Rubio wasn't even present to vote on this, being a hypocrite. LOL!
Anyway, this is what Ted Cruz had to say about that. It is true that HR 1540, Section 1021 is vague, giving too much executive power and has undefined criteria on who can be detained without a trial.
Quote:
Cruz: NDAA Does Not Ensure our Most Basic Rights as American Citizens are Protected
December 19, 2013
WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement regarding today’s final vote on the National Defense Authorization Act:
"Today I voted against the National Defense Authorization Act. I am deeply concerned that Congress still has not prohibited President Obama’s ability to indefinitely detain U.S. citizens arrested on American soil without trial or due process.
"The Constitution does not allow President Obama, or any President, to apprehend an American citizen, arrested on U.S. soil, and detain these citizens indefinitely without a trial. When I ran for office, I promised the people of Texas I would oppose any National Defense Authorization Act that did not explicitly prohibit the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens. Although this legislation does contain several positive provisions that I support, it does not ensure our most basic rights as American citizens are protected.
"I hope that next year the Senate and the House can come together in a bipartisan way to recognize the importance of our constitutional rights even in the face of ongoing terrorist threats and national security challenges. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Senate Armed Services Committee toward this common goal."

Re: Sen. Ted Cruz Makes It Official
Who to Believe? Rubio or Cruz?
Marco Rubio supported a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants; that is known. And Rubio is now seeking to undermine Ted Cruz’s credibility on immigration issues by saying Cruz supports a path to legalization for illegal immigrants.
So, who to believe? Rubio, whose campaign is working hard to knock holes in Cruz’s record, or the record of the man himself?

Blue State Blues: Ted Cruz Is 100% Right About the Gang of Eight
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is being honest about his position on the “Gang of Eight” immigration reform bill in 2013.

Yes, of course he is, and we knew that.
