Re: Tony Spell has church in spite of the ban

I was all for this guy until he pretended like he was going to run over a protester... and a parishioner did the same.

This is partly true. He won’t be put in jail; however, his house arrest has not been amended and he’s not allowed to preach.

Post from Rev Spell:

“”Current situation:
As of Monday, April 27, At 10:30am, prior to the 12:00 protest, I was contacted by my lawyer and told that I had until 12:00 noon to pay $25,000 for breaking my house arrest on Sunday morning and Sunday night service, or I would be put in prison.

He said I was a risk to society, even though my congregation has the right to assemble. After negotiations, my lawyer said it was reduced to $15,000.

Following the protest at the Governors mansion, around 2pm, I received a letter from the judge stating that I was a greater threat to the inmates who are a “captive population”, than to my congregation, so he would allow me to remain on house arrest until further notice.

Every time I break house arrest, such as I did Sunday morning, Sunday night and last night to PREACH in my PULPIT, another charge gets added to my case.

An important distinction is that originally they stated that the bus incident was a completely separate issue and was not tied in any way to my strict adherence to Hebrews 10:25 and exercising our right to assemble. True motives were reveal when the bail bond stipulations were used to effectively tie the two “separate” issues together in yet another effort to keep me from preaching to my congregation.“”

Probably worried he'll try to convert them.

I thought the same thing... lol!

Because he no doubt probably would!

Interesting to see where they go with this case. Both sides digging in their heels with no signs of resolution anywhere.

d - Have you read what precipitated the action?
And I have not heard/seen anything regarding a member doing anything.
Just for fun, why don't you go look at the protestor's facebook page...

There’s a video showing a white truck swerving towards the protester, then turning into the church parking lot. An arrest warrant was issued for the driver but I haven’t read any update on it.

Doesn’t matter what precipitated the two actions. We’re supposed to have the HG and fruits of the spirit inside of us. The protester is a sinner doing what sinners do. There’s no excuse for especially a Pastor to do anything like that.

Exactly, it seems that the church has forgotten that the message of the Bible is perfection . Those that are Christs have crucified the flesh...if the flesh is alive we are not his.

I beg to differ.
If someone threatens or harasses my family, I will defend them.
And the Bible backs that up.
What he was wanting to do was to get out of the bus and speak to the protestor. And Sis. Spell was in the bus telling him to stop and just go.
Which he eventually listened to.
If he had it to do over again, he says he would have listened to her and drove on.
But, trying to pretend that this is the unforgivable or unpardonable sin makes me want to know how perfect all of you are...
The church (or Bro. Spell) should have just taken this guy to court and hit him with a restraining order (because he had taken to following church people around town and basically shouting "unclean, unclean").
But hindsight is always 2020...
