I see, according to your logic, we should just allow them to ridicule, slander, etc. Yet, when I put the ball back in their court...I'M somehow the bad guy???? My reason for being so abrasive w/ the liberal crowd is that they can dish it out, but can't take it. Besides, you probably would've "corrected" Jesus also in Jn. chp. 8 when He told them that their father was the devil!! No, I won't expound on Him resorting to actual violence in the temple. Paul w/stood Peter "to the face," & no one told him he had a "bad spirit." You're a victim of the western paradigm of Christianity.

Seems to me like you need to go reread your Bible before you start "correcting" me...........

Honestly are you Jesus? Try reading where James and John wanted to call fire from heaven and devour them. Jesus rebuked them.

Just because Jesus did it, doesn't give you or me or anyone else the right to do it in a bad spirit. Now with a good spirit you can keep going because outside of the slandering, I'm enjoying your rebuttals.

God will be the Judge in eternity...not me. But, Rev. teaches us that we'll be judged by the "bib-los" [Bible]....including I Tim. 2 & I Ptr. 3. Eternity is God's business, not mine. I do believe that we'll ALL need the Mercies of God on that day, but that doesn't mean that I'm not to teach what the Scriptures clearly say. Besides, most of the messages that I preach are encouraging in nature, though there are certainly times to be firm....depending on people's spirit.

If you think they are hell-bound, why don't you pray for them that God will show them the right way?
Why do you assume your points, then launch an attack from them? I doooo pray for them! But, as Abraham told the rich man in hell, "they have Moses and the prophets [i.e., Word of God]......".

Ok, so maybe I did not word that very well. I just meant that since the jewelry users do not see it as you do, the only thing left you can do is pray for them.

What I'm getting from this post is that you are not sure it is an heaven/hell issue, am I right?

You're equivocating John & James wanting to murder folks w/ me responding in firm tones. Honestly, do you believe that is a fair comparison? We are not Peter either, so should we quit preaching Acts 2:38 salvation since we're not the apostle who initially stated this command? Jesus is our Example...is He not? Think about this, one reason that we teach water baptism so strongly is because it's the 1st thing He did before launching out into His ministry/outreach. Certainly we're no better than He....same principle above.

Just because Jesus did it, doesn't give you or me or anyone else the right to do it in a bad spirit. Now with a good spirit you can keep going because outside of the slandering, I'm enjoying your rebuttals.
Well, I appreciate the gracious statement here...sincerely. I just cannot deal w/ those who "make the Word of God on no effect." Jesus saved His most fiery rebukes for those type, because they lead many down the path of destruction w/ their slight of hand. I cannot stand false doctrine of any kind, because of the eternal damage that it does. Jesus Himself said He "hated the doctrine of the Nicolatians," who taught that externals were "legalisms"....sound familiar?? Blessings anyway.

I will say it like this: I do not think one can go the lengths that we've seen in this thread to make the plain written Word of God of no effect & be in right standing w/ God. However, we ALL have shortcomings somewhere or another & garner the frown of God at times.

I am aware that because of my present fallen nature, my judgements can be clouded [which is why the Bible says we "SHALL (when we no longer have fallen natures) judge angels"].

So, in scholastical humilty, I reserve the possibility w/in myself that I can somehow be wrong. Though, honestly, I don't see how in the world one cannot understand the plainness of I Tim. 2:12. I would say that the safest route is to obey the Bible & encourage others to do the same...leaving eternity in God's Hands.

A very well written response and in a good spirit. Can you tell the difference here? I surely can!

Its one thing to rebuke in person and another to rebuke on a forum where no one sees you or the annointing in which you may bring unless God himself convicts them. its a big difference

Yes, I agree, but I would say the same about them. It has been my experience that most are not nearly as polemical in person as online. Gotta' run....check back 2mmorrow.
