There is a poster on CARM named Forever4truth who defends the initial evidence doctrine better than anyone I've read. He posts on the Pentecostal and Oneness Pentecostal forums over there. You have to join CARM to read the threads.

Yes, I don't always agree with him. Yet, many times I do. I love his remarks about Obama.

I don't think we have a choice. All who believe in Christ are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. I believe God has chosen this to authenticate His Spirit indwelling the believer.

But necessarily?

Psa 45:6 (45:7) Thy throne given of God is for ever and ever; a sceptre of equity is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Psa 45:7 (45:8) Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
Here is the RSV
Psa 45:6 Your divine throne endures for ever and ever. Your royal scepter is a scepter of equity;
Here is the ESV
Psa 45:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
GNB
Psa 45:6 The kingdom that God has given you will last forever and ever. You rule over your people with justice;
Compare this with the verse in Hebrews
Heb 1:8 About the Son, however, God said: "Your kingdom, O God, will last forever and ever! You rule over your people with justice.

This is where I'm making assumptions on your position, but it really sounds like you think Trinity vs. Oneness is a behind-the-scenes, single-handed game-changer for interpretation, and I really don't think it is.

Oh I will be following this up...lol

DA should do another site like HMH, that highlights the men that ask to be called "DOCTOR" and assume the role of theololgical expert, and put the real education next to their mugshot. Okay, that sounds a little harsh. But sheesh... include some charismatics too! They are just as guilty! It's dishonest! It's a "form of education but denying the power thereof."

I don't believe a man has to attend Bible College in order to be a minister, but there is something to the idea of studying to show yourself approved. I'm highly suspicious of young ministers who want to be in the pulpit but they refuse to spend any time applying themselves to learning from older, wiser men and women of God.
I'm WAY more suspicious of men who want people to THINK they spent time studying for a degree when they really didn't.

I agree.
However, I do think it's necessary that a group has individuals committed to education, or it becomes an incestuous academia that disentigrates into ignorance over generations -- and those that do obtain an education take the first train out of town. I believe it's critical, in fact.
And if you're life is to be given as a servant to the saints in the capacity of ministry, why aren't you equipping yourself with study?

So you believe Romans 8 = glossalalia, Holy Spirit baptism? Interesting.
