Exactly.. I doubt many people who have left apostolic churches, would have left if the some of the standards were presented in the light they were meant to be. Matter of fact, if people really love Jesus, they would have wanted to go the 2nd mile attitude rather than only doing what is required, which Jesus himself called an unprofitable servant.
However since most things became "heaven or hell" and preach only that way, rather than pleasing God, it became a bitter scorn.

yes, I am serious.
I do not see how that would violate modesty or holiness.

I've heard very little to none teaching on the spirit of "standards". So much is only touched at the surface level.

I used to go to a Vineyard Church from 1992 to 2006.
A couple of years ago I was visiting there and talked to a lady who was pastor over the prayer ministry.
She had recently conducted a funeral when someone had called the Vineyard church and asked that they send a pastor to do a funeral.
Someone who was at the funeral did not like it that she was a Vineyard pastor and had (moderately) spiked hair and a nose ring. The person sent a letter to the senior pastor of the Vineyard asking him, "Is this the way you want your church represented?'
He answered back, "Yes" and went on to tell how he had paid for his daughter's nose piercing as a birthday present.
Oh, and that lady pastor was not the senior pastor's daughter. The senior pastor just mentioned his daughter's piercing to show that he had no problem with piercing.
P.S. I remember seeing a tee shirt that said "Body piercing saved my life" and had a picture of Jesus on the cross with His hands, feet, and side pierced.

Oh brother, Please let's not even remotely compare the piercing of our blessed lord to tongue/nose piercing.

First red flag: Women are not to be in positions of authority over men in the church [I Tim. 2, I Cor. 14, etc., etc., etc.]
She had recently conducted a funeral when someone had called the Vineyard church and asked that they send a pastor to do a funeral.
Then they should've sent a preacher to do the job, not a woman. "I do not allow a woman to teach, or to excercise authority OVER a man....these things command and teach."
Someone who was at the funeral did not like it that she was a Vineyard pastor
Good, sounds like someone knew their Bible.
and had (moderately) spiked hair and a nose ring.
Tooooo funny!
The person sent a letter to the senior pastor of the Vineyard asking him, "Is this the way you want your church represented?'
He answered back, "Yes" and went on to tell how he had paid for his daughter's nose piercing as a birthday present.
Which is the precise reason they should've went to a church that preached the Bible.
Oh, and that lady pastor was not the senior pastor's daughter. The senior pastor just mentioned his daughter's piercing to show that he had no problem with piercing.
So sad for him......
P.S. I remember seeing a tee shirt that said "Body piercing saved my life" and had a picture of Jesus on the cross with His hands, feet, and side pierced.

but you did use your finger strength to type those words, just couldn't resist, could you?
Whenever I get on here at AFF I check for "new posts." When I see that there are new posts in "Isiaiah 3 and jewelry" I think to myself, "I'm not gonna waste any more of my time on that" but I go ahead and do it.
I guess we're hooked.

well its either all of us are too sure that each one is right or all of us are afraid of finding out we may be wrong and someone else is right
