Is that all it was about. Br. Adams always told me they pulled out of the upc and went AMF cuz the upc was to liberal.

Come out from her (upc) and be ye separate was common phrase batted around to get us holy ones a shoutin' n dancin'.

Another favorite of the AMf folks I knew was that the UPC would go in the rapture first because the bible says' "the dead in christ shall rise first then we which are ALIVE and remain shall be caught up.

I don't think he thought many of the upc could be saved and that was in 1970.

Of Course we all be lost for on time on this thing called internet according to some AMFer's.

The reason for the split was church government. Honestly at the time of the split there were men in the UPC that were as strong on holiness issues as those who left. However in many meetings there was an agenda not to allow men who they knew would preach holiness issues to preach. Elder Paul Jordan told me personally they knew their day was over in the UPC after Elder Ballesterio preached "Handwriting of the Wall" at San Antonio in 64. It was a holiness mesage. But the war was over local church sovereignty not holiness. It seemed after the split many areas of the UPC did become liberal. An elderly UPC preacher told me when the AMF guys left it caused an imbalance in the UPC it never got over?

I dearly loved hearing Br Morgan and Br Majors preach.

Br Majors was such an interesting man to talk to. i drove up to his church for a labor day picnic. Church was bigger than the town he was in.

There was a Br Pylant that use to come preach for us in Pensacola. he was from Atmore AL. He such an inspiration to me as a young man back in the ealy 70's
