What I was saying is your vote at your level is worth a "Hanging Chad" to the elite upper class.

I know. I just wanted to state since he is no longer around. He stood up. In fact he was heard on the assembly floor at the Ft. Worth Conference in 1975.
I would need to ask my Mom what he spoke about.

Did you know I got a letter asking me to be on the tabulating committee?
I respectfully declined.
This is the first year I've got to come and just be a pastor. It's been wonderful! Please pray for my wife though, I miss her not being with me. She is not well.
BTW, can I name drop? I never do that.
Today, I have spoken to close friends who are District Superintendents, District Secretarys, and several members of various committees. I had full access to their time, and they were extremely gracious in talking to me. They hid nothing regarding their feelings on the resolution. They know how I feel about the issue, some agreed with me and some didn't - but we walked away friends.
That's a whole lot more than a hanging chad.

That I can respect. I wil pray for your wife. I love my wife deeply as well. They are awesome.
I just name drop sometimes. Because it hurts that my Dad is gone.
It is a void that never gets filled.
The men I mentioned....
Were men I met as a young child and looked at them with Ah!
I just wish my Dad would be alive today....

I was on the tabulating committee once. I was amazed at how "loose" everything was. At one point all I needed was another brother and we could have really affected the outcome of a couple of votes. I felt badly even thinking that- but it was very much on an honor system type of voting.
Knowing that thousands of your brethren are counting on you to do it right is an awesome feeling and everytime I observed something like this within the UPC I was always impressed with the fidelity of the officials and the committee people to do things right.

Oh, I get it...so when it's referred to reaching the lost, the refererence is to other Christians who have put their trust in Jesus Christ and not the ungodly folks that are in need of a savior? Nothing new I guess as to what the main focus is for outreach...the attitude is that there is a "corner on truth and it's our job to set the rest straight"
Oy vey...can't the focus be on unbelievers? Isn't that what "taking it to the world" should imply...evidently, it is not.

It's all I have ever known. I do care about it, and hope it changes for the better.
As I sat in the business meeting today I considered the fact that if I were to walk away, I would lose any voice I have. There are no viable alternatives for fellowship. I would never be comfortable in the NCO because of their tolerance for trinitarianism. I would not be comfortable in the AWCF.
My only other option would be to go independent and have virtually no fellowship.

I can't tell you how much I can relate to this post. Stay where you are PP and make a difference.

See, this is where I think so many have it wrong. Who's saying to allow television into the UPCI? Isn't the issue to allow UPCI advertising into other's lives via television?
