I agree. I don't think anybody who really keeps up with AM and POA would think that AM would "approve" of a staff member going to a church that preaches less than AM does as doctrine.
However AM is a gentlemen and a good friend of the Phillips family who are out of his church.
I have personally heard from AM's mouth that along with his dad KP is one of the men he admires the most or something to that effect.
Two things are at play here that people need to realize;
1. AM's long term relationship with JO and POA would mean that AM would
know that JO has his mind made up and to be ulgy about it woulde be
useless and counterproductive. I do believe he privately expressed his
opinion but did not push it.
2. Secondly AM's close relationship with KP and RP would make him less likely
to make a fuss that he knows would be pointless anyway as JO is no
novice making a spur of the moment decision. If he came to that decison
I don't think anything AM would say could have changed it.
AM's detractors will probably try to infer that there is some sort of tacit approval of less than the full 3 step PAJC
Acts 2:38 plan of salvation if AM does not denounce JO and his move but they would be wrong I believe.
He is just a man of tact and class and is not going to be ugly.
