I'm not saying anything is wrong with the building, just that I don't like it.

We are going to build a new sanctuary in about a year and it will be red brick with white trim and white columns. The interior will be colonial.

Exactly! And why do we have to look like a "church"?? Alot of folks won't go to church but they go shopping! If building a building that looks different than the norm draws the unchurched, we are accomplishing what we are supposed to be doing.

There is a segment of people who want "tradition" but we like to think outside the box. Just different preferences.

I NEVER said that it had to look like a church. But as for me and the church I pastor it sill look like a church.

I would never go to a church that looked like that. Of course I would never to to a church that preached and believed like that either.

I know you did not say that it had to look a certain way. If you read all my post you see that I said it is a different preference. If you want red brick with white columns, knock yourself out. I'm sure it will be beautiful. That style is. It's just not what we want.

I have also learned to never say never. Paul in his writings said, "That which I would not do that I do".............

To each his own. We don't want our building to look "churchy"; that's the whole point! We want to attract sinners, and they are sick of "church" like they know it from their past! If we were building it to suit church people, we would build one like you're talking about. Guess what? IT'S NOT ABOUT US!!!

This is a loaded statement I think. If Brother Epley was building this would you have stated the same?
