First, no man can own a human being. Their TYRANT MASTERS is what you mean. Second, they weren't always "freed to fight", in many cases, if not most, they were offered freedom from the chains of their bondage only IF they fought. If they refused to fight for the Confederacy, they typically remained in bondage or were put to some other form of servile work.

It's all a glorious myth of those who are closet racists and sympathizers of the Confederacy.

Yes, I read that piece of garbage. There are too many good works out there, mostly written by Lincoln advocates, who tell a different story about Lee that the garbage you cite. But that is what communists do. You'll next be telling me that Jesus never existed.

Again, you cherry pick what to respond to without any supporting evidence to back your claims. I have studied this issue for years and no black, slave or free ,had to be forced to fight the Yankees. They looked for the opportunity to fight them.

I'd be offended at the destruction of the monuments and I'm absolutely no fan of the Confederacy. However, I think that the statues shouldn't serve as memorials to enemies of the Union and the notion that all men are created equal. Therefore, they should be removed from memorial sites and placed in museums.
