Re: What's with all the new Bible versions?
They replace "O Lucifer" with " Morning Star" in the NIV...
KJV....12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
NIV....How you have fallen from heaven, morning star,
Jesus said.... Rev 22:16 I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. (KJV)
They are not BOTH "the morning star"

Re: What's with all the new Bible versions?
Is Isaiah referring to a local king or to supernatural events ? Is the interpretation referring to the local king and Satan referred to in some other way ?
How does hermeneutics apply to this verse ???

Jesus is the Morning Star, not Lucifer.

Re: What's with all the new Bible versions?
Isaiah 14:12
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Jesus saw it too)

Re: What's with all the new Bible versions?
The NIV(etc.) is complete trash, equating Lucifer with Jesus.

I will also give him the morning star.
NIV: Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
(Lucifer is not mentioned here...they are making Jesus and Lucifer synonymous in these verses)

Gail Riplinger is incorrect, and you are following someone who is incorrect. You, are following a woman who made money off of the KJV Onlyites, with her assumptions. No one was trying to associate the devil with Jesus Christ, Isaiah 14:12 is speaking of the first light that proceeds the dawn. That was Nebuchadnezzar, he was the head of gold Daniel 2:38, he was the king of the golden city Isaiah 14:4, and he was the tree that reached heaven Daniel 4:11 but was cut down and a band of iron was placed around it Daniel 4:15. Isaiah the prophet was told to take up a proverb against the King of Babylon not a devil Isaiah 14:4. But I'm just quoting Bible, book, chapter and verse.

No it is not, that is an assumption.
