I agree it was after but not during the 70th week. This seems clear sense it states that the city and the sanctuary will be destroyed before the 70th week.

how did we arrive at 62 weeks? the text reads that messiah was murdered at 62 weeks.

the confirmed covenant is one week, accounting for 63 weeks.

what happened to the 7 weeks in verse 25?

In your view, what week followed the 69th week, the week subsequent to the 69th week in which Messiah was cut off? Numerically I mean.

The time period of the prophecy was broken down to 7 weeks + 62 weeks + 1 week (Daniel 9:25-27). Daniel 9:26 is referring to the period immediately following the distinctive 62 week period.

In my view it has not happened yet. When Jesus was rejected by the Jews and crucified the weeks paused. In the text it says that the one who confirms the covenant for one week would be from those who came and destroyed the sanctuary and the city. Those things did not happen for some years after Jesus was crucified. It cannot seem to happen until the sacrifices are happening again.

Jesus was then crucified in a paused week, not in week 69 or week 70? I don't agree with that, if that's what you're saying, but I do appreciate your discussion on the question.
