A civil war looks likely to break out in America, and it will pit gun rights advocates (people who love liberty) against gun control zealots (people who hate freedom and love tyranny). The battle lines are being drawn right now as gun manufacturers are leaving anti-Constitution states like Connecticut and Colorado and relocating to pro-Constitution states like Texas and Arizona.

So your saying I hate freedom and love tyranny because I want background checks on every gun sold?

Let's stick with the facts that a background check wouldn't have stopped the mass shootings in Connecticut or Colorado.

Again, criminals do NOT obey the law, that is why they are called criminals.

So, all you are doing is punishing honest citizens and it's just an evasion of privacy leading to tyranny.

Poor Pressing-on you might have to wait a day to get your toy.

You didn't answer my question.
Do I hate freedom?
Do I love tyranny?
You post NRA bull then refuse to answer a simple question while you continue posting more NRA bull.

So, you're saying this isn't like Cracker Jacks where I can pull the toy out before I eat the popcorn?

I believe that there are two factions to this background check. There is the camp that believes background checks will work and make us safer. And there is the camp that would love to advance it into tyranny, although not actually using the word.

I believe you fall into the first camp - thinking it may help make us safer. I don't happen to share your opinion. These atrocities took place in "gun free" zones. It's a no-brainer.

I don't believe it is bull to look at the facts logically in that, criminals do not obey the law, will never obey the law and won't submit to a background check. You will not see them applying for a conceal carry license, unless of course, they have an effective fraudulent identity.

Hence, we are back to square one not being any safer. Why would I want to impose further control over honest citizens because of a few whack jobs? Let the citizenry armed themselves, protect themselves. No one else seems to be doing a very good job of protecting us.

It's like saying someone is "a glutton for punishment" when they keep making the same bad decision. Of course they really don't like punishment, it's just that they haven't seen how they are punishing themselves. You are punishing yourself by supporting a law that punishes only the innocent it claims to protect. Neither you or any other liberal Obama lover can cite one microbe of scientific data that shows that Obama's proposed gun law would have prevented a Sandy Hook type tragedy, or would prevent one in the future. It just makes you have warm fuzzies on the inside and that's all liberals care about. You don't care about the rights of the rest of us, not to mention your own. So in that sense, you do love punishment, and tyranny. If you truly cherished the liberties handed down to us by the Founding Fathers, you would not think them such a small thing to be discarded at the command of Lord Obama.

Not intimidated by you or the rest of the RWN's on this site.
Just amazed that folks claim to be Christian yet post falsehoods just because it suits their ideology.

Re: I've lost respect for Sandy Hook parents

The problem I have with the gun control debate as it is right now is that the questions are way off focus. Essentially they want to debate a few things that help nothing with regard to Sandy Hook or Aurora or any other shooting like this. The primary question seems to be "What weapons should Adam Lanza have had with him when he shot up the school?" and "How thoroughly should we have checked his mother's background before letting her bring home said weapons so he could shoot her and steal them and shoot up the school?" No one seems to be asking "How can we keep this loon and others like him from getting any kind of weapon and being loosed on the public?" I maintain that if the principal at that school had a permit and a little .380, he might not have killed anyone after his mother.
