I understand that it drives you nuts. You and your third party-ers, cannot understand the "game" so you are on the practice field in your "own" game of flag football. You just don't understand that your score means nothing except to you and the others with you. You and O call it lying, the rest of the world sees it for what it is: "politics". We're looking for a president not a pope.
Herein lies the problem for me and sums up why my blind GOP partisanship is over. I absolutely agree they are all playing politics and in order to build blindly faithful, passionate bases they must play politics about the right things. I found it personally repulsing when I realized to what extent some immoral men were playing politics with moral issues.
If we're going to stipulate that we accept that we have a broken two-party system in which both are simply playing politics, we cannot come back and accept and propagate that anybody has a moral or biblical obligation to support a certain group of the politicians. That is the duplicity that disturbs me whenever I see it happening in real life, on forums, and on social media. I am literally watching real relationships between real Christians suffer as a result.

I have tears in my eyes as I thank you for this post. It's because you actually get the importance of this whole issue. I read your words to my husband who agreed it was well thought out and written. Thank you so much, tstew.

Though I didn't watch the debate, and really don't know much about issues over there, I would interject over Obama's line about 'horses and bayonets'. I know alot of people reckon it was a pretty smooth reply. I don't.
"Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets," Obama answered sarcastically. "The nature of our military has changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have ships that go under water: nuclear submarines. The question is not a game of 'Battleship' where we're counting ships."
Please refresh my memory, but I believe that the American army in Vietnam was far more superior than the Vietcong. Did that equal victory? No. His statement sounds ominously like those made before WW1 and WW2.
I believe that many Marines, etc, aren't too impressed with his statement either. As they have been quick to point out, bayonets are still standard equipment. And I believe that for all our advanced technology, knives are still a big thing amongst special ops . . .
Bob Schieffer accidentally said "Obama Bin Laden" during the debate. I thought it was my imagination, but turns out I heard correctly. However, he did slip an "s" in there, making it "Obama's Bin Laden." LOL!!! Trying to cover up his slip.
I heard that but he didn't stop and apologize or draw any attention to his gaffe. He handled it well.
At leased it wasn't as bad as when Senator Kennedy staggered to the microphone and slurred this out:

You miss the point, the reason they have to play politics, is that the American people are so divided, that you have try to cater to enough hot buttons, or you will never get the opportunity to serve. The culture is so diverse with so many different special interests that it is very difficult to get elected. I'm not die hard Republican, there is just not another choice for someone with Christian values, unless you are going to waste your vote. Third parties do nothing, but ruin the candidates careers and help elect the worst individuals, history has a long list of these dreamers and the trainwrecked they caused.

Quotes by some of the one-world globalists themselves as well as from those who became aware of their evil plans:
"The main purpose of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations) is promoting the disarmament of US sovereignty and national independence and submergence into and all powerful, one world government."
- US Navy Admiral Chester Ward
"The Council on Foreign Relations is the American branch of a society which originated in England... (and) ...believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one world rule established."
- Carroll Quigley (Bill Clinton's Georgetown mentor)
"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all."
- Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.
"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order. "
- David Rockefeller
"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
- David Rockefeller, Baden-Baden, Germany 1991
"We will have a world government whether you like it or not. The only question is whether that government will be achieved by conquest or consent."
- Banker Paul Warburg, February 17, 1950, as he testified before the U.S. Senate
"To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas".
- Brock Chisolm, former Director of the (WHO) World Health Organization
"Let me control a peoples currency and I care not who makes their laws."
- Meyer Nathaniel Rothschild in a speech to a gathering of world bankers February 12, 1912. (The following year, the USA subscribed to the 'services' of the newly incorporated Federal Reserve, headed by Mr. Rothschild.)
"The real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, state and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of a self created screen....At the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both political parties."
- New York City Mayor John F. Hylan, 1922
"The depression was the calculated 'shearing' of the public by the World Money powers, triggered by the planned sudden shortage of supply of call money in the New York money market....The One World Government leaders and their ever close bankers have now acquired full control of the money and credit machinery of the U.S. via the creation of the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank."
- Curtis Dall, FDR's son-in-law as quoted in his book, My Exploited Father-in-Law
"Today the path of total dictatorship in the United States can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by... the people. Outwardly we have a Constitutional government. We have operating within our government and political system, another body representing another form of government - a bureaucratic elite." - Senator William Jenner, 1954
"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nationstates involved. As managers and creators of the system, they will rule the future."
- U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater in his l964 book: With No Apologies.
"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have."
- Richard Salent, former president, CBS News
"There is no such thing as an independent press in America, unless it is in the country towns. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. If I should permit honest opinions to be printed in one issue of my paper, like Othello, before twenty-four hours, my occupation would be gone. The business of the New York journalist is to destroy truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon; to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. We are the tools and vessels for rich men behind the scenes. We are intellectual prostitutes."
- John Swinton, past editor of the New York Tribune.
"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government."
- Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991
"No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation."
- David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations
These people have exposed a lot of the NWO "wolves in sheep's clothing" - research what they wrote and said -
So, since the world is going to hell in a hand basket, we should just withdraw and not participate? There are alot of folks who say and write crazy stuff, been hearing this fear mongering all my life. If I worried about every crazy thing someone says I would be crazy, so I simply don't give a hoot about all this nutty stuff.

I understand your view. That is why no one of any honesty nor integrity gets a chance. You have to speak and look political. Funny we crucify the church for playing political games, but it's okay if our political candidates do that.
In the case of someone like Perry or Gingrich, with some gaffes and pointedly answering the questions, it's best to just shut-up and play the game. Very sad for America and very sad that I find Americans supporting the very behaviour that attributes to our demise. Shameful in fact.
Therefore, the reason to be a realist, and try to get the very best that we can get, we have to live with it, this is our country, so please, no more Obama!

With all due respect, you miss the point. I eventually got sick and tired of watching people ride serious moral issues like abortion to the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court and not doing anything remotely as dramatic as the election cycle rhetoric I hear. I'm sick and tired of hearing abortion as issue 1a while we talk about candidates, but be immediately buried once they get into office. I'm not about to get back into all of these political debates, but I'll just say this. When President Bush II was in office, 7 of the 9 sitting Supreme Court justices were Republican appointed...a super majority. I don't want to hear another word about Roe v. Wade in our elections...but that's just me.

So awfully true! It amazes me that Deacon is so excited over a landslide win for him. Doesn't matter about the flip-flopping and etch-a-sketching, I just want to back the WINNER!
I have never supported Romney because I want to win, for winning's sake. Romney wasn't my first choice for the GOP nomination, he wasn't even my third choice. I wanted Cain first, Santorum second, Gingrich third. Once Romney became the frontrunner in the GOP and finally the nominee, I was willing to support him for one reason and one reason only: the removal of Obama from office. You know that. I have explained this many times to you. Why you characterize me as a simpleton who only wants to win is beyond me.
