I always enjoyed the friendly date. When you feel the moment is right, do this:
You: Are you thinking about kissing me???
Her: What???
You: It just looked like you were thinking about something.
Her: Not kissing you! lol
You: Well, you are now. Do you want to kiss me?
At this point she has several possible answers. And here are possible actions for you to take:
Yes - Kiss her.
Maybe - Say, "Let's find out." then kiss her.
No - If she's smiling and glances to the side when she says this, smile, call her a liar, and kiss her.
No - If she's smiling and looking you in the eyes, she's challenging your wit, say something witty or humorous. Leave a second attempt for later.
No - Not smiling, looking into your eyes, or at cell phone. Body language creates barriers or establishes distance...don't kiss her. Put her in the "friend zone" on this date and share A LITTLE more about yourself, but allow her to do most of the talking. Must build comfort factor.

Coming from a very rough background I was a man hater and a scrapper in my youth. Very tomboy tough with an excellent right hook that I like to use
I'm older and more mellow now but still would not appreciate an uninvited kiss from someone I had not even agreed to go to dinner with
You would definately need to know one another better I think... My two neices were raised in the Quiver Full Holiness Baptist movement. They do not believe in kissing until marriage and each exchanged their first kiss with their respective new husbands at the altar on thier wedding days. I am not sure how they would have taken a boy kissing them without warning but I suspect they would have viewed it as an assault.

Re: Rejection
Matt, I noticed that you said that you asked a Sister out for dinner. That is your problem. I know that they may be very modestly dressed, but Nuns do not go for that sort of thing.

I thought mine was good, and I think that you topped it.
I dated a girl for a couple years several years back. After we broke up, I went out with a girl one time, but I never pursued a relationship. I do know how it feels to have been so far removed from the 'scene' that it feels very difficult to regain entrance. This is especially true since many of the young ladies are married before the age of 25. I suppose that we could go and convert ourselves wives (that has happened on a rare occasion).

Re: Rejection
lol..there was a woman I liked. She kept blowing me off when I tried to talk to her. One person said she was just shy but our "mutual friends" kept telling me she wasn't worth it. I finally asked her and said she was not interested. After that she kept blowing me off when I would just try to say hi or something. I finally realized our mutual friends were right and I realized what a horrible person she was :-)

She embarrassed him, hurt him, did almost everything she could do to run him off. But he loved her so much, he didn't give up. Finally, after three years - to the amazement of all of our family, she agreed to date him. Shortly after, they were married, and have been happily married ever since. For some women, they do like to be "chased" .... so if you find someone you really, really think you want to spend the rest of your life with, then give it your all... she may just be wanting to have fun with the chase - just like my sister did, I think.

What a cool story!

I've been at a couple of weddings where the bride and groom made a HUGE deal before hand of their first kiss at the alter being that that of man and wife. Both couples where divorced within 2 years.
Go figure.

Prolly pretty safe bet the quiverfull folks stay married... who wants to find a new spouse when they have 9 kids...and who can afford the child support?
Actually our nieces have been married 7 and 9 years respectively (the one married 9 is about to hit the 6th kid mark).

How weird...I was just about to put what I'm about to say and I didn't even read your post until after I had thought to put this...I just thank God that me and this girl aren't weird around each other now. She still acts the same as she did before towards me from what I've seen...thank God for friendships!
