Right. Only God can talk to Himself without talking to Himself.
Timmy, you crack me up

No, only God can manifest with more than divine nature and thereby do what would take more than one human person to do. It's called a divine person manifesting as a human being who needs to rely upon deity.
Like I said. :heeheehe

"Many Christians do not try to understand what was written in a verse in the Bible. Instead they approach the passage to prove what they already believe."
OK, not exactly. But is it really much different? You have One Person, in two manifestaions or offices. That One Person in one manifestation talking to another manifestation of Himself. How is that Person not speaking to Himself?

This is simply not true. For example, The Gospel Coalition, probably the largest and most influential of the groups, regularly fellowships with Pentecostals/Charismatics.
Good grief, even some of the Gospel Coalition council members are self-described charismatics (i.e. Matt Chandler, DA Carson, Mark Driscoll, Joshua Harris, CJ Mahaney).
Even though our pastor, Chandler, will hang out with pentecostals and charismatics he would probably consider most of them to be practicing the gifts in an unbiblical way and leading people into mysticism. There is so much of that going around.
Still, these guys aren't your typical calvinist in that they do agree that in the proper context the gifts are to be used in the church today.
Most here would laugh at the idea of an elder board requiring that they filter messages in tongues before releasing it to the members and also anyone with a "word of knowledge" has to present it to the board. There are so many nutcases out there proclaiming themselves to be prophets and having "words from God" that it is a very wise thing to just squash most of that stuff before it ever happens.
How many large UPC churches do you know that you would probably walk in off the street and give a message in tongues and the folks would accept it as from God without knowing anything about the person?
