They both had their eyes closed, and as he reached toward them, they both came up off their feet and landed flat on their backs with no one to catch them. It was the weirdest thing - Eddie never even touched them and they didn't see him. AND---they were not hurt in the least. Those kinds of things I know are God.

I can vouch -- had a similar experience. Undeniable POWER OF GOD.

Yet, it's a part of nearly every pentecostal circle, in fact, I don't know of a pentecostal church that would speak out against it.

NOW, we preach against this type of nonsense, and don't even have alter calls at my church because folks from other pentecostal churches tend to want to get into the unbiblical alter practices prevelant in some pentecostal churches.
My pastor tells a story of s big "old time" pentecostal service they had before I got there, and how the guest preacher pronounced the Holy Ghost on a kid (teenager) after much labourous prayer and some small babble. My Pastor rebuked the whole practice in front of everyone and told the young man, He didn't receive the Holy Ghost, and that when He did He wouldn't need someone else to tell everyone, He would know it.
Needless to say, alot of those type pentecostals aren't beating our door down to have services together.

Someone on this forum or some other forum told about a woman who came for prayer. As soon as hands were placed on her she hit the floor. She got partially up and said something like, "Oh, I forgot to tell you that I go down easy." And then she fell back to the floor. (in the Spirit, I assume)

But as to scripture to support someone being slain, I believe there are.

Whoa, that is some real shaky hermenutics.

Welcome to my team, Jason!!! Glad to have you! Dang it, I always get to do this by myself, though!
Yes, she has VERY shaky hermeneutics.

I love treading into truth. I am absolutely AMAZED by people who claim to embrace the bible, who rave about their knowledge of "The Word" and claim to "Have the truth", but yet, when their habits are found to be unfounded in the bible, or worse yet, contradict biblical principles, suddenly it's, "Oh, but I had an experience."
Experience does not rise to the level of biblical authority. Sorry.
