I will clarify this. I do care and think that it is out of order in most cases. Now don't think that I am speaking out of both sides of my mouth here. I understand why people do it and because I feel that most peoples motives are (hopefully) pure it doesn't bother me as much, but I do think that often times it is out of order because it is just unorganized chaos. I mean I go to a pentecostal church that loud speaking in tongues is the norm and it gets even louder (as if God couldn't hear them before) when they are praying for someone. I think that most of us have done this before at some point.

I think an intial evidence of the HG is tongues, but not always in all cases. You don't mind it because you understand. But someone who you've been working with and sharing your faith with?.....and finally they come to church and then some person that is out-of-control starts their stuff....what is that person going to think? Paul said they may think you're "Insane", therefore he said, "Don't do it!"

I wouldn't necessarily say it was "ridiculous" - but there were many times I jumped out of my skin. Especially when we sat right in front of him.

You know the Bible says that tongues is a sign to the unbeliever however most of the time it is a sign we are crazy and not a sign that we are spiritual. Just a thought

Yes, but when it said, "For a sign" do you think he was referring to the unintelligible kind of gibberish we mostly hear? Or...the tongues of Acts 2 that were a "sign to the unbeliever"?

No I think it was talking about the ACTS 2 version. Not certain, but that is my take.

So would you agree that the tongues we see in nearly all.....maybe all.....pentecostal church services are not for a sign to the unbeliever?
