So it can be a demon too? I just thought I was being abducted by the Greys all these years.

No, but I had a coach one time who ended every sentence with the word "everything".

"Ok, team, we're gonna play a good game and eveything. We're gonna win this game, and everything. Any questions, and everything?"

And so on. One thing, though. He didn't say "everything". It sounded like "and Elaine".

"Ok, team, we're gonna play a good game and Elaine. We're gonna win this game, and Elaine. Any questions, and Elaine?"

A hand shot up. "Yeah, whats your question and Elaine?" "Yeah, huh, coach...who's Elaine?"

And that is the truth with my hand up!

My husband's grandfather always repeated the last word of a sentece. "How are you doing, doing?" "It's a nice day isn't it, it?" "Boy, it's hot out here, here."

Wow, I can't remember the last time I was so fascinated by a thread! OA & Timmy seem to be a powerful team. Timmy speaks to my cynicism and OA speaks to the unorthodox believer in me. Together they are very mind-strecthcing and thought-provoking!

I loved OA's insights of the book of Job (though I do tend to side with Timmy that it's most likely a parable).

Timmy, dear one, you are deceived.
Do you believe this scripture to be literal? That when Ananias chose to lie, it was because satan himself had taken up physical residence in his inner being?

Re: What can Satan do?

but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed - James 1:14 - Ananias was money-hungry, gave in to his evil desire, and was "dragged away". Satan didn't have to enter him, just enticed him!!

No, Peter was right - Ananias was tempted by Satan, who knew his weakness was that $$$. Satan does not have to "take up residence" - he will take advantage of every weakness a Christian has to cause him to stumble and fall - Satan filled his heart and A. listened to him.
