Did you two skip over the multiple posts where I said it was between the Pastor and God? Obviously.

OOPS...I forgot - I hate all Pastors

Guess I am labelled for life...there is only grace and mercy, forgiveness and reconcilliation with God. It is IMPOSSIBLE with MAN/WOMAN

Saying that it's between the pastor and God is fine, until the but . . . is added.

That's like saying that Bro. So and So is a great guy, but . . .

The words after the "but" aren't cancelled by the words before.

Whether or not you or I hate pastors is irrelevant to this conversation, as are whatever labels you or I may wear.

Re: What Would You Do if This Was You?

I believe that if God is in it, the church will grow. I just believe that He intends to add to the church. JMHO.

By the way, this example (and I don't know if it's real or imaginary) sounds just like the church I grew up in all my life. It was the same size when I left at 17 than it was when I was born. Maybe less. I think this is a very sad statement and a poor witness to the community.

Unfortunately, all too often, it is our peers who define that for us.

He's been pastor for almost a decade.

- Membership is 30.

- There is minimal compensation and he works a secular job fifty hours a week.

- The church building is an embarrassment, but paid for.

- Started the church from nothing.

- He pays some of the church bills out of his own pocket.

- The church members are apathetic.
I'd seriously be praying about God's will. Some things aren't overnighters, and if it's right, he should stick through it. Maybe he just needs some change. Do something differently. Or... maybe it's time to move on and let someone else give it a shot.

Healthy things grow.

While I'm not huge on numbers, it is true that things that are healthy have life and grow naturally. If one is a pastor of 30 in a town of 100, this is a different example. But if you are in a city of 1 million and you've only reached 30, you may want to eat a Passion bar and light a fire.

That's another problem....Nobody wants to just have the opportunity to be used or anything unless they're getting well paid for it.
