Re: How Many Are Excited About the Rapture?
Revelationist,
I think you are missing something.
The basic oneness understanding involves the thought that the single person of God is the same person as is the Father and Holy Ghost and Son. They are not three persons, but one. To say the presence of the Holy Ghost in us is the same manifestation indicated in Christ's words that He would come again is to ignore this basic oneness understanding. The Holy Spirit was working in the earth long before the day of Pentecost. God put His Spirit into people before Acts 2. But we all know that those indwellings were very different than that of Acts 2. By the same token, we all know Jesus is the person of the Holy Ghost, and yet the coming of His Spirit is not the same coming as that mentioned in 1 Cor 15. He did not yet come according to 1 Cor 15. So, using your own question, why does Paul say in 1 Cor 15 He has to come, if they already had the Holy Ghost before 1 Cor 15??
Jesus is coming again as SON OF GOD. The Holy Ghost is not the Son of God, but another manifestation of the single person of the Godhead. Although Son of God is not the Holy Ghost in MANIFESTATION, the person of the Son is the person of the Holy Ghost. You are confusing the "manifestation of the person" with the "person" when you say the Son of God came back when the Holy Ghost was poured out, And then you contradict your own beliefs about 1 Cor 15, where you believe the coming of the Lord is not that of the Spirit outpouring.

Is this opinion or do you have scripture to back up your assertion that Jesus Christ is coming back in the flesh?
I never thought He was returning as a man, like me, but as a Supernatural King, in the Glory Of God.

Re: How Many Are Excited About the Rapture?
It is indeed gratifying that in this day of Apostasy that so many still believe in the imminent return of Our Lord and Savior.

Acts 1:9-11 KJV And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (10) And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; (11) Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
I deny this is saying "the manner" does not refer to the details listed in verse 9. They physically saw Him leave and shall physically see Him return.
To return without coming in flesh is not returning in the manner He left. Period.

So when Stephen looked up and saw Jesus at the right hand of the Father, he saw the Almighty God's manifestation of Himself in the flesh and He saw the Glory of God sitting in His Throne?
Also, did Jesus appear before the Glory of God in the flesh before Bethlehem? I am convinced, through scripture, that Jesus existed before Bethlehem.

No. Jesus was VISIBLY SEEN by Stephen on the THRONE, which all the disciples understood as "the right hand" of "power". He stood in a position of POWER. THE THRONE. This fulfilled the most oft-quoted Old Testament verse in the New Testament:
Psalms 110:1 KJV <A Psalm of David.> The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

No, I do not believe so.

...as Father of eternity, yes.

It is my opinion based on scripture.
Several folks have referenced he scriptures that explain that "in like manner" he will return, and scriptures that talk about his glorified but yet still "there" nonspiritual body after resurrection.
Also remember the scripture that speaks of the rapture, saying that "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall be changed"......
I think its clear that our corruptible fleshly bodies will be changed at the rapture, just as Jesus body was changed.
I also thinks its clear that we will go up visibly, in those changed incorruptible but still "there" bodies, just as Jesus ascended in his.
Some of those scriptures have already been quoted. I don't feel the need to re post half the new testament for those who get their jollies on demanding you quote chapter and verse with their correct Hebrew interpretation in its original context for every opinion you have on scripture.
(not talking about you Bro. Jermyn, but it's sure to pop up if I don't head it off at the pass so to speak. )
I'll reference the scriptures I am referring to, if they want it quoted they can quote it.

Why would you want to do that?
