Re: My Dinner Failed!!!
I went to dinner at a friends once, they were having homemade chinese. His wife didnt know you had to boil the rice before you fried it. It looked great, but the first bite was tooth shattering. THEN,,,the question as one tries to gain their composure as one is in great dental pain......"How do you like the rice?" I said......"I like my rice COOKED!!!" Her husband fell out of his chair laughing.
We ordered pizza....,

Well, someone lied! It was awful - no flavor and very pink and gooey. At least the other stuff was good - roasted parmesan potatoes and broccoli. And I made an Apple Crunch dessert, so I kind of redeemed myself. I just hate it when you spend all that time and then it's YUCKY! Glad I didn't spend a lot of money too.
Anyone else want to share a failure story and make me feel better?

Oh no Sherrri! I've made Chicken Marsala a couple of times...I bought cooking wine, so I would not look sinful!
I've had plenty of dished that didn't turn out...I'm sure this is not the norm for you.

Pwing and dong are mechanical terms that one can use to describe the strange noises coming from under one's hood to the mechanic!

Cooking wine tastes terrible when you swig it from the bottle!
(Or, so I've heard...........)

You cant be a good cook unless you learn what NOT to do! That is my moto!
You really cant cook Marsalla without Marsala. you can use a Medera, a port, or a sherry and get a good flavor (in fact i did it this week with a medera and it was great)
I dont recomend using cooking wine but really it is better than nothing at all I suppose.
|
I did...but only because we were still UPC...we were taught better. However, the Marsala still turned out very well.
