It's a burden for everyone to pay taxes. Get off this poor people stuff, I see them in my town stopping by to pick up their WICK paperwork in their Jags, Lincolns and Cadillacs. Many are poor because of poor spending habits. Problem with some poor people the more you give them the more they want. Seems very strange to me that so many people are out of work yet I see sighns all over the place HELP WANTED In my business I am constantly looking for someone that wants to work.
I was talking about money to fund war and the DOD in general.

I will be more clear next time.

In some sort of fantasy land that would be splendid. Here in the real world when this nation's leaders take it to war and that war subsequently costs $2 billion dollars per week, you can't "leave it out" of the $$$$ talk of a country.

It takes $ to fight wars and that money is either paid by the tax payers or is borrowed from other sources, namely the Chinese. It'd be nice to forget about that $700 billion dollar war expenditure but it can't be done when talking about this country's current financial situation.

Re: "Joe the Plumber" actually isn't.

The Toledo Blade had an interesting article today about Joe's appearance on with Huckabee. Thought some might want to see it.....

Re: "Joe the Plumber" actually isn't.

For some reason, everyone seems to have overlooked a few things here.

AS AN EMPLOYEEE a plumber does not have to be licensed. They are covered under the owners plumbing license.
A large majority of the plumbers out there have never attended the class to get the pretty little piece of paper to frame and hand on the wall.
They have been doing the same quality work, up to the same required code, with just as much experience often times as the ones with the pretty paper on the wall.

If a BUSINESS is billing out 250K a year, I garan-dagum-tee you they are not bringing home 250K. They would be lucky to bring home 75 grand after truck expenses, tools, materials, wages, insurance, gas, advertising etc.

"How many plumbers make 250 K a year?"
There are a few owners who are bumping that, but those individuals rarely ever lift a basin wrench, much less get their fingers dirty.

But 250 grand a year is not really all that much for a plumbing COMPANY to make. Like I said, you bill out 250, you might actually profit half that.

Money from the military along with commercial aircraft companies etc. puts food on my table. Until Jesus comes there will always be a need for defense.

Re: "Joe the Plumber" actually isn't.

I don't think the point of this is whether Joe the Plumber is really a plumber or not. Or even if he owes back taxes or not.

The point, in my book, is that this man had the gumption to exercise his American rights and ask questions. He called the politicians out and said, "ok, now if you say such-and-so, then back it up. Explain EXACTLY what you mean. No more double talk".

I say good for Joe!

Amen to that! But remember, free speech only goes for the anti God, anti American, pro government, anti personal freedom/achievement, anti military/law enforcement crowd. Everyone else is expected to shut up, or be called for "hate speech" or "right wing radicals".

Sad enough, this is true. I firmly believe God expects us to do all we can do, and trust him to do what we cannot.
I CAN support the military, I CAN arm my family and learn/train to protect them/ourselves. So I do. Then I trust HIM for what I cannot do, and I pray I never have to use the skills and tools to protect.

Most of our modern advances and technology have come from military endeavors. To support the military, is to support the economy.
