I've pretty much been staying out of all political discussions on forums recently because partisanship and politics really get to me now. But I just have to say a few things:
There is so much spin and shading of things that no matter who you are listening to, you are probably being misled. I was not trying to single you out TR, but saying that she has been governor since 2006 is true but could be misleading. The fact that she began in December is an issue that needs to be considered. In all likelyhood she probably was still unpacking last year.
Also I heard of her very impressive 84% improval rating, but later learned that it was from polls earlier on and that in the more recent polls, the approval rating was in the 60s. It's just little games like that that aggravate me on all sides. The GOP will have to address the cause of such a dramatic slide in such a short period of time (especially since her politics line up so well with her conservative constituents).
I just feel like there were safer choices, but I'll just go back to my cubby-hole

2 quick points...
*** I think everyone knows that elections are at the end of the year, so that doesnt always have to be spelled out. (And even if she took office in January of 06 instead of December, it would still not make a difference to the Democrats criticizing her anyway.)
*** There's no evidence her approval rating has dropped, and certainly not into the 60's as you're referring to. One taken in July 2008 showed her still at 80%.

Palin frequently had an approval rating above 90% in 2007.[25] A poll published by Hays Research on July 28, 2008 showed Palin's approval rating at 80%,[26] while another Ivan Moore poll showed it at 76%, a drop which the pollsters attributed to the controversial firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.[27]
A subsequent Rasmussen Reports poll from July 31, 2008 showed Palin's approval rating down to 64%. [28] According to Gregg Erickson of the Alaska Daily News, Palin's approval rating among reporters and legislators would be "in the teens or twenties". [29]
She has been taking a hit from that little scandal and it is still developing. I'm just saying that this pick gives the Dems a lot to work with.

Sister Fella, I was just thinking this week that I want to sit down and read the book of Proverbs all at one time!
Thanks so much for your posts. They are always full of good sense and gentle admonition. I love it when you post scriptures for anything anyone happens to be going through. What would we do without our 'roadmap' for this journey that we're on?
Being a state legislator and US senator don't count as executive experience.
Obama has never served in an executive position.
Palin has been a governor since 2006.
Thus, she has more executive experience than Obama.
Called, chosen and faithful.
Those God calls, He prepares. Then He brings them forth. No doubt this has
been in the making even before John McCain met her six months ago.
God called David long before he became king. Even after his anointing, he
didn't immediately become king. He was tempered by putting up with King
Saul. God used an "enemy" to test him. Some of the most trying times of
my life have been the making of me as a Christian.
Moses told the children of Isreal why God took them through all the tests
and temptations of the wildernes (type of the road of this life). It was to
humble them, prove them, see what was in their hearts, and to see if they
would obey His commandments or not. The testings are never to destroy us
but to save us in the evil day.
Sarah Palin was tested when she took her stand against abortion, for any
reason. She found that the little son she was carrying had Down's Syndrone.
I read that 9 out of 10 abort after finding this out. Perhaps she was the one
that wouldn't and didn't. It's one thing when we say we believe this or that,
because we will be tempted and tested to be proven.
Give me a break if this woman wasn't a republican you would be screaming to high heaven.
Bro. Rico...er, I mean Light,
It is not a matter of party. It is a matter of who is willing to
do what is right and pleasing to God, whether Republican or
Democrat. There are many in the Democratic Pro-Life For Life.
In the past some have left the Democratic Party because they
could not go along with the issues the Demos chose to identify
with.
Our late father's family were all democrats until they were
ashamed to be anymore. That was after they found truth in
the inward parts.( i.e. they found the truth) The Light dispelled
the darkness!! Thank God for the true Light! They that sat
in darkness, saw the Light!

I'd hate to see you stay out the discussion. I always enjoy reading everything that you write! Hope I haven't offended you on this subject in any way!

PO!!! It's good to see you posting again. I was wondering where you were. No, nobody has offended me in any way. I just get tired of walking around the same partisan mountain during this time every four years.

I told Renda I was sorry I posted but I got an old thread routed to my e-mail on Sarah Palin and was too excited not to post. LOL! Renda responded by saying, "You can post any time you want." So, here I am. lol
Getting ready for Gustav?
