Re: For PO & Others From Texas!

I love TEXAS because that is where God planted us!
Jesus said every plant that His Father hath not planted
shall be rooted up. These ole roots have grown down
deep and have now extended out.

Some "runners" from these roots have extended east, to
Canton, to Mineola. Some have extended slightly to the
northeast, east of McKinney.
Some to the northwest around the Ft. Worth area, etc.
But many have remained in this area.

We were transplanted from one very small town in Texas
to another when I was a child. That will be 58 yrs. ago,
come Sept.30. Seen a lot of changes. This small town we
were transplanted to, over half a century ago, has grown
into a city of close to 40,000 population.

Less than 2000 pop. when we came here. We only had one
elementary school, combined with the Jr. High classes and
one high school nearby. Now we have 9 elementary schools,
6 Intermediate & Junior High, and two large high schools.

Anyway, TEXAS is where HE planted us, so unless He moves
us to move elsewhere, Texas is where we will stay. Our parents
and all eleven of we siblings never lived out of the state of Texas.

[B]Of the, right at 100, direct descendants of my parents who are
both deceased, only one grandson lives out of the state of Texas.

Did I say we were a close-knit family! The eleven tribes of Blakey
love TEXAS for TEXAS is our home on God's green earth!

Bro. Rico, you have your reasons, I'm sure for not wanting to
be here, but we have our reasons for being here.
As I said, this
is where God planted us!

We have seemed to have grown well in this rich TEXAS soil! LOL!

Blessings,

Falla39

And we love him and his wife, they are just precious. And the other one that shall remain nameless, and his wife are also the same. I haven't met one yet I didn't love. Texas is blessed with the Blakey family!!!

Re: For PO & Others From Texas!

My heart remains in louisiana while my body yet resides in Texas.

I love Texas. It is a great place and has been good to my family. my mom actually was born in Texas, but 5 generations of my family (including me) have lived on the same hill. I had to leave to make a living. I would really love to retire and move back to the place my dad lives, where his dad lived, where his dad lived and where his dad settled long before the civil war.

until then, Texas will be my home away from home.

I am from La and have no desire to go back, at least not the area I grew up in. It is not the same at all.

Sometimes I feel as if I'd be willing to move anywhere that has some good fishing! I hate it that the fishing around here isn't what I was used to. Hmph!
