Re: Question about sinful clothing
I have not read this entire thread, but here is my two cents! Clothing cannot be holy or unholy. The key is to keep our clothing modest - in covering, and in cost. I can understand not purchasing a product as a protest, if you do not want to support their causes, but that does not make the clothing sinful to wear. I had a pastor who preached against women wearing t shirts with writing on the chest. I honored that as long as I held a position in that church- not that I wear t shirts with writing much. But my guideline is modesty and balance in what I wear.

I had forgotten about being my being taught not to wear t-shirts with writing. lol I think it was because men would stare at our chest if we had writing on our shirt.

This is fair. I always feel bad when read ladies shirts cause some think you are checking them out. I am a nosy person so I usually ask my wife to read it for me

Re: Question about sinful clothing
I believe in modest apparel, but "holy clothing" is akin to "magic hair". Reminds me of the time I drove all the way to Murhreesboro, TN to hear this dynamic, powerful evangelist. He spent his entire message on extolling the evilness of allowing Sears and Roebuck catalogs into our homes. (JC Penny, Spegiel). We are inviting a pornographic spirit into our homes when we allow this ungodly smut into our homes. Wasn't so dynamic and powerful afterall.
Who decides what is, and what is not, modest apparel? I do. For me and me alone. I don't think its my place to try to tell someone else what dressing immorally means. If they really love God, they will decide for themselves what it means to "Follow.... holiness, without which no man shall see God". If they don't love God enough to seek out His Word for guidance, then I don't think how they dress really matters.

I do not do it to stare, just want to know what the darn shirt says. Good thing my wife knows me.

That would be a problem in Wisconsin where almost every t-shirt says Green Bay Packers or Milwaukee Brewers!

Wasn't there someone from the Urshan family that modeled underwear in one of those catalogues?
