Ernnnt - WRONG!!!!!!!

That wasn't the problem. The problem was that they wanted to be like God.
They were deceived by their own lusts for divinity.

Get it right preacha!

Yet another perfect example of twisting scripture to fit your agenda.

Hmmm, seems to me it wasn't exactly to "be like divinity" either.

Go back and read the basis of the serpents temptation.

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Indeed it was the basis. But her eating was clearly for 2 other reasons: 1) Good for food; 2) Make one wise. Nowhere does it say she actually responded to the temptation to be like God." JMO.

Wrong again.

She yielded out of a desire for the things the devil tempted her with. Sin was not even present before his priming. She was "drawn away" out of a lust to be like God i.e to possess His wisdom in discerning good from evil.

Something that she did not possess as of yet.

All right!!!

NOW I know how to make that sound in a post!!! Been wantin' to do that for a long time! Thanks Pastor Poster!

I'd like to add that as much as many here would like for this problem to go away, or ignore it, or stick their heads in the sand over it, you're just not going to get away from having to deal with people that have been hurt by a pastor. I wish they were all great like the ones represented here on our forum, but sadly, they're not.

No biggie. I disagree. But when you stae she wanted to "be like divinity" with no qualifier I will continue to disagree.

If, as you now have done, you add the qualifier "so that she might know the difference between good and evil like God does," then I can agree with that. But that knowledge alone does not make her totally like divinity. Sorry if I was doing "critical reading" when that was probably not your intent.

We are moving ever so close to the days of NFCF...what's a forum without a thread trying to make fools out of those who incorporate and dedicate themselves to the work of God in the local assembly...

We are nowhere close to NFCF friend.

That is in a galaxy far, far away.

COOP IS in a league of his own, however.
