You are exactly right about being "a bit more sensitive".
As for slapping the pulpit, since I am a lady, I honestly don't know how to slap it any other way other than lady like.

If others view it as "manly" thats their problem, not mine.
Now if I tried jumping up on top of it like Matt Maddix does, THAT would be a different story altogether.
Another thought...I have to wonder about men who like to cook. Since the stereotype is that of women doing the cooking, does that mean that these men are acting "feminine" by doing something they enjoy doing, something that is considered a female thing in general?
My point is, we often fall victim to stereotypes and apostolics are no exception.
