You are delusional if you think I'm either liberal or hate preachers. Furthermore, it is easy to see when someone is losing an argument because they skirt issues and start making jabs.

You are the one who brought up the illustration of a preacher using his authority to pronounce someone husband and wife.

My comments were not meant to aimed at preachers. Rather I was referring to a DOCTRINE that many Apostolics believe that States that the power to remit sins is in the tongue of the preacher by him pronouncing the name of Jesus over them in baptism. I do not see the significance of baptism in the name of Jesus being primarily the invocation.

Anyone who was not been baptized in Jesus name (having the name of Jesus called on when they are baptized) has not had their sins remitted

Because the "name" itself is where the power is, right? This has NOTHING to do with the good conscience or faith of the baptizee.

You have reduced the miracle of conversion to a magical formula that can be repeated over and over again.

Why this is EXACTLY how the early church grew! This is so much more simpler than AMWAY!

Do you pray over your food? Is that some kind "magical formula" or are invoking God's blessings and giving thanks to Jesus for the food?

If I get married and the magistrate or preacher doesn't invoke the Name of Jesus at the end of the ceremony, is my marriage void?
