It's just funny the way the meaning of words slip forward and change connotations. The word sin could have also meant mistake at one time.
today the word sin has a much stronger connotation.

I dunno, maybe. But it would seem pretty important to use the more conventional def: things that make God mad!

I think they are reflected in what makes an earthly father mad in his children--ignorance is tolerated, but willful disobedience is not.
