Sad that they play it off as something normal...something to be accepted or expected.
The big winner - TBN. They made her the big name she is. Now without a marriage to mess with the scheduling, they can parade her on camera more often. In the process, TBN will also lower the bar by accepting divorce as status quo.

What was it Jesus said would show all men we are His disciples? Wasn't it something about how we love one another? If you won't love your spouse what does that say?

John 13:34 - 35 (KJV) 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

About the most cogent assessment of the situation I have seen on the thread thus far.

Very good point.

You are wrong. They would never accept anyone that did anything wrong before, ask Michael English. Well, uh that might not be a good example. Maybe it will be accepted

Exactly. If one can't show love to his/her spouse, they have no business being an example for anything else. Parents, take heed, your children watch how you treat one another.

Be careful not to fall as you jump to your conclusion. IF you were to have read the story you would notice that adultry had nothing to do with it. Funny how the cons mind works!

So far I haven't really seen a good reason given for it besides they'd "taken different paths."

Surely biblically aware and anointed preachers like RW & PW know that Jesus said the only valid reason for divorce is if the spouse acts the harlot. You don't think they'd get divorced for any other extra biblical reason do you? What kind of people do you think they are?
Quote:
Matt 5:31 - 32 (KJV)
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
|
Quote:
Matt 19:7 - 9 (KJV)
7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
|
Must have been important for Jesus to mention it twice........
I'm sure Bro. Strange was just trying to use deductive reasoning...........
