I know absolutely nothing about Canada. Isn't that a shame? Our nearest neighbor, our closest friends, yet I know nothing about the country. All I know is that it is somewhere on the yonder side of the Ohio River.

We had some people to visit us from Denmark. They were on the first trip to the US and had travelled throughout the west. Their car broke down in Alabama not far from our house. They stayed with us while a mechanic friend fixed their car. They told me that they had gotten their perception of the US by watching the Jerry Springer Show on TV in Denmark. (Those who have no TV have no idea who Jerry Springer is, so disregard). I told them that the wackoes on Jerry Springer do not reflect America. Alabama, maybe, but not America!

They related that their biggest "peeve" with America is when the president would refer to the US as "the greatest nation on earth". They said they felt "we" were being arrogant in that statement.

I heard George Bush is really from Canada but I have not yet been able to confirm that.

I know a terrorist once tried to enter the US from Canada.....they got hockey....they got hosers Ay....they got no oil so it's not worth annexing....

16% of U.S. oil comes from Canada. Canada ranks second only to Saudi Arabia in proven oil reserves among the nations of the world. More than Iraq, more than Kuwait, more than Iran or even Russia; though a hige portion of this is locked up in the "tar sands" and is expensive to extract.

Many Canadians are also known to wear funny hats.
