This is true. I got sucked into twitterverse Saturday night and spent too much time before bed watching what appears to be just awful things happening in China. But who knows if it's real or what is really happening there.

This morning I was listening to the local news station and heard an interview they did with an American surgeon who is currently stuck in quarantine with her husband on the cruise ship docked in Japan. Allegedly there are approx 3700 on this ship and nearly 200 have been diagnosed with the disease.

This lady was completely calm and even joked a few times about their situation. She stated that they've been locked in their cabin and aren't allowed to go anywhere, though they can access their small balcony. She said that they have been told quarantine is supposed to last until at least Feb 19th and laughed when one of the radio hosts told her "Happy Valentine's Day."

I think the Chinese know where this virus originated. I don't think it's a mere coincidence that a Biosafety Level 4 Lab is located in Wuhan.

Oracle seems to indicate that China's Great Firewall is working, and internet traffic (outgoing) is constant but really choppy - which means the only people posting stuff from inside China to the wider internet are almost certainly CCP employees working round the clock. What we're seeing is what they want everyone to see.

Also, I understand it's the Chinese New Year holiday season, and production pretty much comes to a stop this time of year anyway. Which means this "outbreak" happened at literally the best possible time. If production begins again as usual (starting mid-late Feb) then it would be almost a guarantee there was no viral outbreak. If there are little or no deaths outside China (watch the quarantined cruise ship, for example) it would practically seal the deal.

It's looking like the whole thing may very well be a coverup for a roundup and disposal of dissidents. Anyone seen Xi lately?

That is an interesting theory. Xi was photographed in Beijing recently but he avoided going to Wuhan. He sent his second in command instead.

This is something I've seen suggested in some tweets and a few articles. How do you explain those outside of China who have allegedly been diagnosed with this virus? I could believe this if there weren't other cases outside of China.

Well, it's a coronavirus (aka a cold). I'm saying it may not be a genuine end of the world plague of biblical proportions, cats and dogs living together, etc.
