I agree that the wicked shall be destroyed in the lake of fire. However i believe that biblically speaking this is an eternal destrucion/punishment there is just to much scripture for me to say otherwise.

As to soul sleep would you say that those asleep in death are aware of their surroundings?

So are you agreeing that the wicked are annihilated in Hell? There is indeed way to much scripture to deny this.

No the people who are dead no nothing. Thats why this teaching is termed "soul sleep".

Its as if they were asleep, awaiting resurrection. To them it will seem as just a moment, just the twinkling of an eye and they will awake in his presence.

I was not very clear I guess. I was not agreeing with annihilation rather with eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

I believe in the doctrine of eternal judgment. The wicked are cast in hell fire and will be consumed in the wrath of God until they are devoured.

9Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. Psalms 21:9

There was a thread a few weeks back about why the apostles never mentioned "hell". Well they did speak of eternal judgment. Most modern Christians dont see that they did even tho its right in front of their faces. They just dont know what to look for.

I realize most will not take the time to watch this. It is a good INTRODUCTION to the teaching of eternal judgment as to the fate of the wicked.

When I first came on the internet 14 years ago I joined an Evangelical Forum owned by Tim Warner of Florida. I presented the doctrine of the annihilation of the wicked. It was mocked and rejected.

About a month ago while surfing Youtube I found the same Tim Warner, now a Pastor of a network of Evangelical Churches has accepted the great truth on this matter. He said in one video he saw it 4 years ago.

It may seem a bit dry and academic but sometimes teaching is that way. If anyone listens they will know more than they knew before.

Alot of Christian churches are denouncing eternal hell these days. They are also condoning alternative lifestyles as okay with God.(just to name one of many unbiblical teachings)

What matters is what did Jesus, the apostles and prophets teach?

Jesus taught an alternative lifestyle:

BE YE THEREFORE PERFECT EVEN AS YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN IS PERFECT. Matt 5:48
