I hear you and the logic, though convoluted, perhaps has some merit but the promise was clearly spelled out in the original story and perhaps Paul/Saul wasn't really the right one to be the person to re-interpret it?

I will always keep the promise I have made to you and your descendants (that's Gen 17:7) directly contradicts what paul/saul is saying it means sport

God or paul/saul? Given a choice you and the council of Nicea who decided what it all meant for you chooses paul/saul over God every time.
