But why are so many people comparing what he did to that girl as "playing doctor"? When one child forces another child to do anything, eat dirt, whatever, it isn't a game. It is the stronger kid being mean to the weaker one and getting pleasure from it.

Fair point and I agree: from her account of events it does sound like he was being pushy. However, I haven't heard his side of that story and there are always at least 2 sides. I'm not willing to put the dramatic spin on it that the original poster did because we only have 1 side of the story AND because they were close to the same age and it could very well have been sexual exploration on both their parts. Even if he was being a bully, it still is a different dynamic than if he were a 28 year old man molesting a 9 year old girl. There wasn't much age difference, so it wasn't "pedophilia" (as stated in the first post). E.g., if all of this happened before he was 18 and it stopped when she was 16, they couldn't have been more than 2 years apart in age at most--unless he was younger than her.
Also, the article says that she and her parents confronted him about it and that he apologized. I'm not excusing his behavior, mind you, but I don't think it's relevant to the Martin case, I don't think it's fair to only have the girl's side, and it's definitely dishonest to call him a "pedophile."
