I noticed on the UPCI website that for sessions that had notes you had to print them from the online site as it stated none would be handed out at the sessions. Another cost cutting measure I am sure along with starting next year hosting the conference every year in St. Louis so the HQ staff does not add to the financial burden with the expense of out of state travel, hotel rooms ,etc during the planning and execution of each GC.

I understand the financial reality of putting on GC I just think in the case of actual attendance they need to either have an admission fee or an offering but not both and in the case of online streaming at least offer an audio stream of the night services free then charge for video streams but not the outrageous $75 & $150 bucks. I could see $5 per night at most. Some wealthy UPCer ought to just pony up fifty or one hundred grand and sponser free high quality streaming.
AT GC they usually charge registration fees I do believe. The fees cover specific sessions and not the general ones though.

My understanding is the fee they charge is for admission to all the services, sessions, etc so I don't know how you can say it is just for specific sessions. They don't let you in the main night service is you don't pay.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

You might be right. I was going by what it was when I went several years back, but I am sure it has changed.

My feelings as an outsider is that it is no big deal. Every meeting I attend has a fee for admission. The convention center is not cheap to rent and these are economincally difficult times for the UPC as well as almost every other group. The admission is relatively inexpensive so my advice is to suck it up and show up if you believe in your cause. I won't be there, but I hope it is a great event for all who attend. God bless.
Funny! Of course my understanding is that "visitors" can come in to the PM service free - with a special push on Fri night to do just that.

You still have enough HG left (even if barely) to be called a brother - so you pay!

Re: General Conference 2011 Kentucky

The $25 stream is not a bad quality. The free one years past was a little hard to watch, but this 'low' quality looks pretty good to me. I will gladly pay it to be able to watch the services. Look: nothing is cheap anymore. Someone has to pay for the cost of the live streaming of the services. How many of you pay a whole lot more to go to concerts, Disneyland or sports events and think nothing of it - and it does nothing for you!

I wonder how many they are having to turn away because of crowd capacity? Probably thousands. I got a tweet this week that Jack Cunningham said there were more than 40,000 UPC Churches. How about that!

I understand they are going to start charging us to talk about them on AFF. They just haven't figured out a collection system yet! just kidding

They are missing the opportunity to sell concessions, popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, they should sell those big foam fingers, those light spinney things like they have at the circus in the form of the Word Aflame logo, can you imagine 1000 of those things spinning in the crowd? People would definitely get in the spirit.

You could even have those guys selling peanuts in the isle just holding a sign instead of calling out! Peanuts, Lemonade, Beer here!!!!! OOooops, maybe thats not a good idea.

Churches could run the stands as a fund raiser! Cmon UPCI, think outside the Box!!!!

They could also sell special VIP tickets for something like 10 grand which would allow them to sit in the Place of Honor, behind the podium, with all the other big wig preachers. Sort of like sitting in the owners box at the big game.

LOL!!! Carp and Randy Wayne, you guys are bad.

If they continue GC I think I should partner with Sister Ruth formerly Reider now Harvey and sell some "Holy Hair Dolls" for little UPC girls. A Barbie knockoff with hair to their feet and a dress covering them from the top of the neck to the bottom of their ankles. Deluxe editions could come bundled with her children's books on dressing holy.
