Even though sin is in our genes we can chose to control it. We can also chose to change our sinful ways. So, the gay is born with sin and he or she can decide to change. It is sin and I made a decsion no longer to believe in reincarnation when I got saved. So, if I can change from someone who had believed in reincarnation then the homosexual can change too. You are born with sin but you chose not to change which is sin.
You can decide to have self control. To control the genes that make you sin.

I wish the term GAY was not used to describe this abomination. lol

Does the Bible agree with you, on this?

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty
6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
19I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

I'll say "amen" to that.
I have a friend whose last name is "Gay."
He's president of our local FGBMFI chapter and it bothers him that his name has been hijacked like that. It bothers him when he's waiting for a table in a restaurant and when the table is ready they call for "the Gay party" or ask him, "Are you Gay?"

Born homosexual or not, there is no excuse either way for it in light of Romans 6. Personally, I reject the notion people are born that way.

You know I really don't know why it is and if you'd look at the media you'd think it was a "heated issue" moreso because of the "hate preachers" like us Pentecostals and those pesky southern baptists who preach against sin. Truth is though, the passion is FAR more inflamed by the other side. Sin is sin, and as long as sin is sin and God requires holiness I'll stand on God's word and declare that sin is sin. I don't care if it's fornication, adultery, pornography, etc it's sin. There's no "fornication" parades however. People don't run around wearing shirts reading "I just fornicated last night" or "fornication pride". Most of the "sensitivity" comes from the very fact that this particular sin has been magnified and celebrated by the media to push an anti-family agenda. That's why when people say "be careful" about how you address this issue I tend to ignore it. It should be no more controversal then lying, bestiality, fornication, adultery, lying, cheating, stealing, etc. God hates those things as he does all sin. So I will preach against all sin, including homosexuality.
Here's one definition of homosexualilty: it is dealing with life through the resources and perceptions of a child who has been wounded and alienated. Using this definition, it makes perfect sense to me why a gay activist will lash out and have what appears to be a tantrum- he or she feels that much of society is against them just because of who they are- the pain is inflamed and when these people who share this same feeling of being outcast find each other, they go into a very intoxicating state. Also, it appears from what I've seen that people with homosexual feelings have a much higher degree of sensitivity than other people.
There are males who have been incested/raped etc who brush it off as just having been an experience and they do not develop any kind of same sex attraction. On the other hand, there are men who may have never been touched by anyone in their childhood, but who feel things on a very intense level and when they perceive that the other children or the people in their own families don't understand them, they withdraw into feeling misunderstood (and also feeling that they are superior to those around them- so they begin to only take counsel from their own minds).
This kind of thing keeps these people from maturing - it's arrested emotional development. At puberty, this emotional immaturity manifests itself in their sex drive- relating to the opposite sex is too terrifying or unsettling and for males they don't know if they have what it takes to perform with a female.
The women I know who were delivered from lesbianism told me that they had a lot of anger (not necessarily at men) that they felt they could not express so they went towards other females because they felt they were more familiar and less threatening. I've also met lesbian women who said they were deeply offended by the idea that men seemed to be given preferential treatment in the church, in the bible and in society in general.
Also, it occurred to me that homosexual orientation is addiction and addiction is idolatry. Isn't idolatry the worship of false gods? When we look at all of the trouble that the children of Israel endured when they went into idolatry, I think that it teaches us something about persons who have not only same sex attraction, but anyone who clings to a false god of any sort. The idol is a cruel taskmaster that requires worship- even if the person doesn't want to worship it, there is compulsion. Many of the pagan religions that the Lord told his people not to interfere with had compulsive sexual practices as part of their worship /cultures. This is expecially true of the religions that worhsipped fertility gods such as Attis, Adonis, Ishtar/Ashtoreth and Baal.
Jesus Christ asks of us, he leads and guides; He doesn't force us to do anything- on the other hand the devil bullies, intimidates and pressures people to do things. This, to me, is why people who worship their pain feel that they have to get high and act belligerently, protest, placate the pain with sexual activities, engage in excessive sleep, eat foods and consume beverages that compromise the brain's chemistry and engage in other passive/agressive behaviors.
So from all of this, this is why I think that anyone who is going to minister to people who have homosexual issues needs to have a calm and listening spirit. Everyone is different and hurt, fear, anger/rage and confusion can best be diffused by a soft tongue, constancy and us laying down our lives so that these souls can see God in us in spite of our own shortcomings.
Born homosexual or not, there is no excuse either way for it in light of Romans 6. Personally, I reject the notion people are born that way.
I don't believe people are born this way either, at least not completely given in to that orientation BUT some are much more likely to become that way based on their inherent personalities. Twin studies have proven this time and time again where identical twins who were separated at birth or soon after were both gay as adults having never met each other and living in completely different situations.
On a similar but completely different note, why are virtually all male hair stylists, fashion designers, and interior decorators gay? We started watching the new season of Design Star on HGTV and I believe there is ONE straight man in the whole bunch.

I think it is because those careers sorta have the reputation now as involving homosexuals. It flaunts their lifestyles more. But originally I think it is just the overt femininity of the careers that attracted them before it became the fad.
