Some things I would not say on this forum but ladies need strong UNDERSTANDING husbands... How can some be kind to everybody in church and be so hurtful to the one that loves them the most? It happens...I know I counsel lots of women. There is an unheard cry in our mists...
Chan, as literal and factual as you are, I am surprised that you have not explored the origins of the God-given authority of preachers in the here and now... anyone can claim they were given that authority and may or may not have followers, but that does not prove that they were given this authority by God.

It doesn't matter Brad. If we go to the church we are to assume that they are of God....throw a bunch of big words in there, mix in some vile wicked and worldly philosophy talk and that is pretty much how he will respond

Having the authority isn't dependent on whether someone claims it. Authority originates with God alone. It is God alone who gets to decide what local church to put you in and, consequently, what leadership to put you under.

Correction: if we go to the church where God has specifically told us to go then we are to assume that the leadership is leadership God has placed over us.

But using this logic, doesn't this mean that no one should change churches at any time without permission from their pastor, regardless of whether they believe the beliefs of said church are biblical?

What happens when it's Dad who puts junior in as "associate" pastor ... or "junior" pastor????
Spiritual abuse is a fact... We can believe anything we want to believe but we do not have to scare people and use all kinds of sermons to "make" them live however we believe...
Liberal!
