But the whole point was that such things should not become law. The beginning example where Paul 'suggested' that people should not marry because of the specific situation at that time, if made into a law like many conservatives tend to do, would STILL be preached today!
If Steve Pixler is a conservative as far as standards go, then he is a conservative who is beginning to see the light and may soon find the whole logical house of cards crashing down.

Actually im gonna pretend it is law ,gives me an answer to the question, when are you going to get remarried ? As for the latter part i disagree with your "if" and the "logical" part but thats ok.Im not that sceptical nor do i think its a house of cards.

Re: How stupid is it to...
First of all - I do think it is so ignorant to even bring up such a thing as facial hair in church. We all have eyebrows - isn't that facial hair?
I was at one UPC church and had 12 filled with the Holy Ghost and 5 baptized that Sunday morning and the pastor asked me at lunch if I was going to grow back my goatee (he had seen me with it on my website) and I said YES! I shaved it to honor your custom here as I would in any nation I preach in - I honor their customs. He canceled the revival - I was scheduled there for two weeks. I left VERY UPSET! There is no excuse for that kind of stupidity!
I have heard several UPC and UC preachers reference goatees and homosexuals and heard N A Urshan say on several occasions - "The homosexual wears the beard?" How stupid and condescending can you be.
Those guys are so out of touch with reality!
I have wore facial hair since I was 16 except for the 18 years I was in the "Apostolic" movement. I still preach for some UPC guys and some ask me NOT TO SHAVE! LOL I always do as a matter of respect to their culture.

AB - not trying to be an NAU apologist, but he was a product of his times. I think that other organizations had leaders make some what we now regard as strange comments about homosexuality, as well. I think most of them were baffled and trying to understand it. As for me, I am still baffled and trying to understand it.
I just visited a church I used to attend and one of the most boyish boys that I knew there when he was 8-9, has now become very effiminate. Very baffling, disturbing and sad.
On the overall point, as I have stated before, I attend what most would consider a UC church and my pastor has the same take on facial hair as SP.

Re: How stupid is it to...
My aversion to facial hair stems from the fact that I've seen too many boogers lodged in them. That, and also from the connotation that facial hair projects from the rebellious, LSD, tripped out, Woodstock, hippie movement. I was so repulsed by it, the symbol of such ungodliness yet remains with me. I'm sure that N.A. Urshan was not trying to insinuate that early Apostolic pioneers like D.C. Opperman was a homosexual.

Just like one would not implicate those brothers 30 or 40 yrs prior to Woodstock, one should also not do so for brothers 30 to 40 yrs post Woodstock.
Of course my position would be it was never appropriate to associate bearded brothers with LSD and "beard boogers". We would not associate our pastors face with a smooth baby butt. Why? Because we respect him as a true brother!!

True. However, it is very hard to turn off people's cultural aversions. This is something that takes generations to quell.

You are probably right about quelling aversions... But if they are moved to judgement it becomes another thing entirely.
Folks that struggle with judgement due to their cultural aversions should take a few international trips to realize the world is bigger than their back forty.
