These verses are hardly ever talked about in Apostolic circles. Over 30 years of being in this movement, and I have yet to hear someone truly expound on these over the pulpit.

Some say the Son, Jesus, will exist forever as God. These Scriptures seem to say otherwise; for God to be "All in All" He must exit this limited form.

To be honest, this whole subject is so far above human comprehension, for anyone to claim they "KNOW" is not only ignorant, it's plain wrong. We've got people claiming they understand the Godhead, but can't even pay their bills!

A Being that speaks and Galaxies are formed is beyond me!!
I have seen those very scriptures used on this forum. Used them myself.

This based on the poll of 25 forum members.

That most people didn't vote.

Last I looked, 12 didn't believe Jesus was the Father, 11 did.

Re: The Results Of My Poll Are Shocking

#1 -The thread was moved to The Debate Room

#2 -Of the 1380 active users, only 56 even VIEWED the thread.

So of those, about half voted.

Does that make you feel any better Michael?

Makes that 1380 number seems puny now.

OK Elder Mikey, I think you have read this - but if you haven't please do. David Barnard is not the only one with view on this matter.

It's all about your IDEA on the Godhead, or it's NOTHING! I guess my question to you would be this; will you CHANGE if proven wrong?
Sure I will be glad to if I am wrong. So now prove to me that Jesus is not God the Father and I will gladly believe the truth.

Yes I have read this in the past.

Notice Jason acknowledges that Oneness believers accept Jesus deity is THE FATHER.

Quote:
Because Oneness believers recognize Jesus’ deity to be that of the Father, it is tempting to conclude that there is no real distinction between Father and Son. Such a conclusion would be inaccurate, however, in light of the hypostatic union. While the deity of the
Father and the deity of the Son is the self-same person, the Son is distinct from the Father in His mode of existence.
I have never at any time taught no distinctions. I teach them like Oneness teaching has all along and agree with Jason.

Again Jason speaks the truth:

God's Dual Manner of Existence

Quote:
While there is only one person in the Godhead, YHWH, this one person has come to exist in two distinct ways simultaneously: in the incarnation as man, and in His continued existence as God beyond the incarnation.22 Jesus is the same divine person as the Father, but in a new mode of existence and self-revelation (as man). As Father, YHWH experiences His existence in a divine manner; as Son, YHWH experiences His existence in a human manner. While the Son is modally distinct from the Father, He is not personally distinct from the Father. Jesus is God's personal existence as man, while the Father is that same God's continued manner of existence beyond the incarnation.23

Jason says Jesus is the same person as the Father. So he would have to have voted yes Jesus is the Father to be consistent with his own teaching.

So Jason of course agrees with David Bernard and all the other Oneness Teachers that Jesus in his deity is God the Father.

Wow!

Some folks just aren't interested in voting apparently. I didn't. Doesn't mean anything other than I just wasn't interested.
Exactly. Good grief...someone needs to cut out the caffeinated sugar from his diet.

BTW some misrepresentations need to be addressed.

The suggestion that Jason or myself denies Jesus is God is false. Not sure why someone would take that route but so be it.

Some people that voted no or did not vote may have done so because they believe there is a distinction between Father and Son and to say the Son (Jesus) is the Father obliterates those distinctions.

Having a cow over that and trying to say that everyone that does not use the same Oneness speak you do is not really Oneness, are ashamed or whatever else was thrown out there is absurd

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

And most certainly ALL Oneness writers and I repeat ALL taught this. All the Oneness books I have ever read were teaching this. If anyone has a Oneness Pentecostal Book written lets say before 2005 and they do not promote Jesus as God the Father please let me know.

Dont worry you wont find one.

My question was not asking about whether Jesus is the Son of God. No one denies that.

Oneness doctrine has always taught Jesus is both Father and Son.

The revisionists are at work trying to make people believe this is not true.

I guess I run the risk of seeming unlearned in Bible theology by asking, outside of the Book of Isaiah, is Jesus ever referred to as the, "Everlasting Father" or "Father of Eternity", or "Father" at all?

I am at work and my mind is drawing a blank right now....
