Re: DKB's Impassioned Plea For Iranian Branhamite?
Just read a few of the opening posts. I say no big deal about a Branham connection. How about joining David Bernard in prayer for this pastor DA?

Re: DKB's Impassioned Plea For Iranian Branhamite?
Probably an improper question but...
if this man is a cult leader, or closely associated with a known cult, I can't classify him a Christian.
So why should I pray for him?
Should we pray for persecuted Mormons? Persecuted JW's? Persecuted Hindus?
Maybe I would pray for this guy because he is human and facing injustice-- not because he is a Christian as it appears that he isn't a Christian.
I am unsure if Paul would even pray for him, if this guy is a false prophet.
Why should I?
This reads so calloused, I know.
Oh well.

LOL! Point made.
Let me rephrase, "Why would the focus of this news story be anything other than prayer for this pastor?"

Forget about the labels... the pastor preaches Jesus - even baptises in Jesus Name. Pray for the man.

Re: DKB's Impassioned Plea For Iranian Branhamite?
Is this guy your brother in Christ?
Is this guy spreading the truth of God's Word?
If he was in America and his church was down the street, would you be a member there?
The more I think about this, I think that DKB could be leading the UPCI to a place where we are "looking their way".
If he is our brother, then who else is our brother?
Does anyone really knows if he has spoken in tongues yet?

Tongues do not deteine brotherhood, Jermyn. Would I go to his church if it were down the street? Probably not, but neither am I a member at the church closest to me. They are MO Synod Lutheran, and fine Chistian people...

Don't Branhamites reject glossalia as necessary initial evidence?
Thanks Reckart for the answer: "I disagree with you that they must speak in tongues. ...I would be judge if I said they did not have the Holy Ghost, if they did not speak with tongues." (William Branham, Questions and Answers, 1969, Aug 30th, Jeffersonville, Ind).
Surely ... Bernard is not recognizing this movement as remotely "Apostolic" ....?????

Branham follows baptize in Jesus name and believe a Oneness view of the Godhead and speaking in tongues. They don't all believe one has to speak in tongues as evidence

Why "in every sense of the word"?
