I actually do have it framed and hanging in my "office"
Since I was never graduated from a college or university, it's the only degree I have.

I did choose my oral defense panel. One I chose because we could speak in german together.
I had an employee from Nebraska. He was doing his doctorate and was also coaching in sports. He dropped out without a dissertation when the footbal team coach changed. Lost his job and doctorate in Psych.
An honorary doctorate is dishonoring to those that worked for theirs.

Perhaps you aren't understanding the history behind, and what honorary degrees are all about?
No one outside our little bubble sees an honorary degree as equivalent to an earned degree. It's not dishonoring... it's honoring. That's the point. It says your work in this field, your experience merits us bestowing you the honor of our school. It's a beautiful tradition. Just one that some in our bubble have been dishonest and sneaky with.

Actually, there are honorary degrees from Medical Schools.
Of course, no one would qualify to practice medicine with an honorary degree -- just about all who were honored with a degree in the field were those already working in the field. The degree was an honor, not a substitute for their academic practice.

I can't name one. Can you? An M.D. Degree from a medical school that is honorary.
Some say Sigmund Freud was an MD He finished gymnasium while still a teen and went directly to a faculty job.

I didn't say they were awarded M.D.'s, I said Medical Doctors/Researchers in their field have been awarded honorary degrees specific to the medical profession. Most schools are starting to distinguish their honorary doctorates from all others by calling them a "Doctor of the University."
Just as an honorary doctorate wouldn't qualify someone to be a brain surgeon, neither would an honorary degree on its own qualify someone to be on the scholastic committee that leads an manuscript translation.
Looks like Pentecost isn't the only group struggling with this issue/phenom. Quite big in Christian Fundie circles too:

What?
You can't get a M.D. degree if it's honorary - - - that's the WHOLE POINT!
However, there are many honorary degrees given out in the Medical Sciences field.
This is the latest recipient from Yale:
MICHAEL RUTTER
Widely acclaimed as the father of child psychiatry, your pioneering work has powerfully advanced our understanding of the mental health, social development, and resilience of children and adolescents. Your seminal studies of the effects of disrupted maternal interaction and the emotional mechanisms for coping with stress have transformed the way we view child development. You have taken children seriously, examining behavior through the complex interaction of environment, interpersonal relationships, genes, neurobiology, and schooling. For your intellectual curiosity, your groundbreaking research, and your contributions to the well-being of children, we are proud to name you DOCTOR OF MEDICAL SCIENCES.

Re: Doctorgate II: E Tu Dr. Jeffers?
Here's an interesting one that Yale awarded this year!
ARETHA FRANKLIN
We know royalty when we see it, and you are, without question, the Queen of Soul. A natural woman, you have been singing your whole life, learning the grace of gospel from family and faith community, tuning it with your own sometimes painful, often joyful, experiences, and creating a signature style that transcends any one musical genre. You have sung the nation’s hopes at presidential inaugurations, and shared your gifts with generations of music lovers. From gospel to pop, from blues to hip-hop, your voice expresses our feelings. With the greatest R-E-S-P-E-C-T, we name you DOCTOR OF MUSIC.
Dr. Queen of Soul!
