Thanks!
That's been my standing view. I've never put much thought into it.

What we see is the layers of the grand canyon that science says took millions of years to happen were developed at mnt saint Helens in much less time. I don't want to get the numbers wrong so I will find thier web site in the next few days. suffice it to say in one year the land had been completly changed, including new water courses which shewed the new layers of setiment that had been layed down when the vocano erupted.
Are you under the impression that archaeologists cannot tell when they run into a layer of "dirt" that was laid down by a volcano?

Layers of ash from a volcano do give us a quick microcosm of the natural processes of erosion etc that you denote but I fail to see how this does anything to lean us toward a young earth.

Alright, thanks for your response. Next question: do you believe that Adam was created as a newborn baby, or did God create him as an adult?

Per my children's view of things... I'm old. But I'm not that old.

I wasn't there and any assumption on the age of Adam would be purely conjecture on my part and this is not how I study God's word... per my conjecture.

So the answer for me... and for you... is... "I don't know".

Exactly.... that is what I am saying never before has man been party to see first hand how erosion and the layer of dirt as you so eloquitly put it was formed. The same layers found in the grand canyon are found in the new water cannels formed by erosion after the first year when the waters found the course of least resitance after St Helens eruption. And news flash it only took one year. It only took minuetes for the layers to form as the volcano erupted.

Do you beleive in evolution too?

Snakes don't eat dirt, either.

As I said earlier, "dust" is a term that is used in allegory throughout Scripture. Nobody challenges the fact that when the psalm speaks of God lifting the poor out of the dust, that without explanation we're not talking about men actually being levitated out of dirt. Yet, snakes eat dirt, Adam is a clay doll, his wife was crafted out of a bone, and Cain is afraid of people that don't exist.

Matthew 22:22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

I was looking for that scripture that says, "Never had any man spoken in such manner" or something like that. This is close enough..

I gotta admit I'm intrigued on your Genesis breakdown, it makes a ton of sense with what God showed me years ago about how the Law and how the weak and beggerly elements of the world were typed together symbolically..

No sir. I believe in intelligent design. Nor do I believe that evolution happened over billions of years being driven by an intelligent designer.
