I've posted what I think the Bible may say on this before.
Those posts were from Romans chapter 2 about people serving God or god by conscience and also the judgment in Matthew 25 where people are rewarded for serving Jesus when they didn't seem to realize they were serving Jesus. Those may not be clear scripture but it's all I can think of on the subject. You may want to ask someone smarter than I .

Of course, this thread is a close relative of my poll, "Is the Bible Clear?" RW's response there was a write-in vote: "Where it is important." Is it important to know what happens to people when they die, and especially those who die without hearing about Jesus?
