Re: The Hypocrisy of the Brown 2012 bandwagon
Some times you have to vote on the lesser of two evils.
John McCain was pretty liberal and I may not have agreed with him on everything but he was a far better choice than the alternative.
I have no idea who will run in 2012, or if I will still be here among the living, but I plan on voting for whoever runs against BHO.

Light's on my "Ignore" list. But I think he's at least partially right here.
Here's a link to what I found on Newsbusters.org. Apparently Brown voted against a bill that would retroactively pay leave of absence for Red Cross workers participating in RC emergencies and disaster relief.
Here's a quote:
Quote:
On October 17th, 2001, Brown voted agains a bill that would authorize "leaves of absence for certain Red Cross employees participating in Red Cross emergencies." The bill gave 15 days of paid leave each year to state workers called up by the Red Cross to respond to disasters. At the time, state workers called for such emergencies were required to use sick and vacation days.
The bill was initially filed before 9/11, and after the attacks, it was made retroactive to 9/11, covering the time spent by state workers who’d assisted with 9/11 recovery work for the Red Cross. Brown’s vote against the measure came a little more than a month after the attack.
Brown spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom justified the vote by pointing to the state’s fiscal straits. "At the time, the state was in a fiscal crisis and facing a deficit, and there was no money to spend on additional pay and benefits for state employees," Fehrnstrom emailed.

Quote:
Think Progress had a citizen-journalist push Brown for comment, and delighted in his answer that "we had to take care of our own priorities first." They then suggested Brown was pushing a tax-subsidized bond for a golf course in his district.

Light wasn't incorrect about the vote or bill. Not sure about the allegation that during this Brown was pushing for the construction of a golf course though.

'nuff said!
Anyone catch what Glenn Beck said about Brown on his radio show? I've listened a bit to his radio show, sometimes it's pretty funny with him and two other guys that are on with him...I didn't hear this directly but read it online.
Quote:
Beck humorously, but harshly, slammed Scott Brown, Republican winner of the race for Ted Kennedy's old Senate seat in Massachusetts, for proclaiming on national television, during his victory speech, that his two daughters were "available."
Beck launched into a long rant about how Brown had just put his daughters up for grabs on a "meat market" and how shocked he was that anyone could say something like that on national television.

Now the source is Huffington Post, so I'm a little skeptical and wish I could find more to put it in context. But from the blip I read there, wow. It's an incredibly brutal and disgusting remark.
There's also a video clip in the link, but I can't view it here at work.

Re: The Hypocrisy of the Brown 2012 bandwagon
Us Republicans harldy like admitting, let alone discussing our hypocrisies.
Whoever is popular for the moment-- there's our new hero.
Brown will be a political commentator on Fox soon.
You know, fair and balanced Fox News.

Re: The Hypocrisy of the Brown 2012 bandwagon
Brown ran to kill Obamacare. That is all that matters. At least I am honest about it.
I want Obama to fail. Brown could help that happen. Therefore, he is my ally despite some social disagreements.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
