And the men should be more caring and sensetive and nurtuing and even staying home with the children while the woman goes to work, after all, the man is generally percieved to be but a big buffoon anyway.(watch TV, it will reinforce that). Then you will be saying the children will get confused on the respective roles of the man and the women and will get so confused they will not understand the differencs between the two sexes and will even want to start marrying those of the same gender. (like that will ever happen)
C'mon man. get with it.
If the church cannot distinguish the different roles of the two genders how in the world do we expect the world to have a clear concept on the order God institued? hmm?
(Psst. I generally agree with some of you premises)
yeah, thats kinda what i am saying

Re: Can Women Pastor ?

If we are all the part of the Body of Christ and Christ is the head of the Church then I suppose he picks who he wants to run the show.
I am a fundamentalist, however me thinks Paul (in the Bible) was a bit prejudice against women.Paul also thought a woman shouldn't where jewelry or braid their hair.
I bet you fellers are glad that the woman didn't follow this teaching.

Anyways the first Church was in the home of a woman.Let's not forget that the Church is often termed the bride of Christ.
Really you guys are lucky that you even get to be in a very female termed place,(The Church,The Bride of Christ)

There is one for you to ponder Grandpappy Scott

Talking Re: Can Women Pastor ?

The First man(Adam)occupation(Sod Buster)

The First Woman(EVE)occupation(The one who gives life)

Now who do you suppose God felt qualified to entrust his beloved creation(THE MAN) to?
If I recall Gabriel was sent to Mary first to tell about Jesus.

After Jesus was 12 years old,Joseph was of no importance,he is never mentioned again in the Bible.

If I recall it was Women who discovered that Jesus had risen(They were the first on the scene) as usual.

So if God came to Earth as a helpless infant, entrusted to Mary, then why would God not entrust the gospel to the female?

Paul became a eunuch, even after he had a wife.I bet he told his wife to sit down and shut up,not to speak unless spoken too.
Kinda like the poor woman over in the middle east that get stoned in the streets if they don't wear a head wrap.
My guess is this is more then likely why Paul ended up a Eunuch

No woman should ever pastor as that would place her over th headship of men in the congregation thus creating a perversion in the church

A womans ministry, if they have one at all, would be to her husband and as a mother of her children

Sorry that this offends you but truth is truth
What offends me bro is all the men that are one way or the other. One they are over dominant and feel the women is just thier slave and should be kept at home barefoot and pregnant. Or two they will not take on the responsiblity God gave to them to lead the home. Paul says there is neither male or female in the eyes of God. Let me throw out a thought the church has no headship other than Christ. HMMM the authority everyone gives to the ministry is not bible. Ephesian 4 tells us God gave the church the ministry to equip the church for the work of the ministry. I found no authority here that would keep a women from leading in the ministry. Remember authority is earned. If a group of people follow a women as a pastor she is in the will of God.

For "LadyRev..."

Sorry friend, the early church derived their epistemological make-up from the OT Scriptures....which N-E-V-E-R shows a woman expounding from the Scriptures to a congregation. But you have the floor, pls. provide me just one, single passage in the Bible where a woman taught/preached from the Scriptures. Just ONE!

Spare me the Deborah issue pls., since she was not an expositor from the Scriptures!! And, you're very mistaken, the early church DID address the issue of women preachers...when Paul strictly forbid the practice [I Tim. 2:11-14, I Cor. 14:34]. Apparently you deny the literal text.

May take me a few days to respond, very busy, but have heard all of these arguments for years now.

You may think that Paul was prejudiced against women but He was the Apostle, not you. Not to offend but your opinion or my opinion does not matter against the Word. I am not an apostle, nor are you, but Paul was and we are formed upon the words of the APOSTLES and PROPHETS, not the opinions of any others!

Are you claiming that men in the church have headship over all the women???

And since when does preaching the Word of God constitute someone having headship over another??

Does the Bible mention men having headship over other men??

Truth is Truth
FTR, the Bible instructs men to 'study to be quiet'.

How can men do that unless a woman teaches them?

A husband has authority over his wife!

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
And since when does preaching the Word of God constitute someone having headship over another????
What do you think Christ is spoke of in Eph 5? Are you trinitarian or do you believe that is dealing with the ministry that Christ set up?

??
Does the Bible mention men having headship over other men??
Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
